Well, not really, but it was a great day off! I went to the mall with my little sister, and we chatted and bonded and I bought a few pieces for my trip soon (aka trying to look cute for the bf, but still modest for the family). I came home and walked/jogged about 3 miles downtown. I feel super amazing now!!! :)
My 4-pound box of dates came, too! I wanted to bring some to Wisconsin with me, but I might need to order more by then!!! They are halawis, and so moist and delicious!!!
What I ate today:
The Good:
1/2 of a watermelon
1/3 pound of dates
1 nectarine
The Bad:
a box of organic black bean soup
The Ugly:
an iced coffee with sugar
I am having a hard time giving up iced coffee...it's a Massachusetts thing. My plan is to phase it out with herbal teas. I think in general, having all those dates to eat will help me miss cooked food less. On work days, I usually have an apple in the morning on my break and 1/3 of a watermelon. Tomorrow, I will be able to munch on dates during my break instead (I don't trust the freshness of most supermarket dates, even the Whole Foods medjools can be a little dry) to keep my energy up!!! Excited to transition to this lifestyle (again) (though I can't realistically do 100% until I return home)!!!
Does anyone know if one can bring dates on domestic US flights? Checked or carry-on luggage?

Comment by Diane L on July 26, 2012 at 10:35am I don't think either type of luggage would be a problem. I've never had a problem. The only time I had food taken from me was when leaving Hawaii. And once I was dumb enough to pack a knife in my food container so they took the knife from me. I just wasn't thinking when I put it in.
