I am feeling accomplished today.
I promoted veganism today. In my AP Chem class, since today was the last day of school for the week, my professor decided to give us a much deserved break -- we cooked food in our class. My group already knew that I was vegan, so they were kind enough to consider cooking something vegan. We talked about what to make and I suggested fruit kabobs. They didn't have many ideas, but they wanted to go do puppy chow (something really unhealthy, but can be made vegan). I didn't want to impose myself, so I said I'll bring whatever they need, just that I won't eat anything so as to count me out in the calculations. My members then felt bad and decided to do the fruit kabobs. So we did the fruit Kabobs, and (because we all shared what we cooked) many people came to our little "station" to grab some kabobs and go. "Those look so good!". And then I had 1 person ask me about being a raw vegan. She said she had tried to become vegetarian herself but her performance went down dramatically in swimming, so she switched back (I wish I had had time to explain to her that she needed more carbs!). But she was completely open minded when asking me about my diet and really curious, it was great! And then another girl in my class (the one I would have least expected to some and ask me anything of the sort) came and asked me about becoming vegetarian! I told her how easy it was, and even told her about veganism, though she says she doesn't think she has the strength to stop eating cheese. But just becoming vegetarian is a giant step in helping her health and the world! Those 2 girls just made my day!
Not to mention I just came back in from cycling 12 miles and jogging 1 mile, all in 1 hour.
Today was an epic day.
