30 Bananas a Day!

Hello everyone!

I have been a raw foodist for about two years, and it didn't work...at first :)
I ate mostly fat and refined sugar (agave). I ate dried foods daily, and I made complex recipes that were mostly made of seeds, coconut, or avocado. I was particularly extreme when it came to salt. I would consume roughly three tablespoons a day. It seemed like I could never add enough salt to anything. Everything I ate was fatty, and deluded with either salt or sugar. I was tired, unmotivated, and addicted...

I have been a strict low fat raw vegan who has consumed basically nothing but fruits and vegetables for the past three weeks. All I can say is this: MY BODY WORKS PROPERLY NOW! Energy and clarity are side effects of that :) Two weeks ago I decided to no longer add any salt to my food. Up until now I only made sweet recipes under the misconception that if I didn't add dates there would not be enough flavor to satisfy me.

Today I felt like making a savory meal. I blended tomatoes with a piece of bell pepper, fresh basal, juice from a lemon, and a small piece of celery. I created zucchini noodles and I poured this over it. When I tasted it I was shocked. It tasted salty!!!
In fact, it was a bit TOO salty, yet very satisfying. Next time I'll put less celery.

My taste buds have become sensitized. If I added salt to any of my amazing and simple recipes it would ruin them. This food has depth! It is dynamic and delicious! There is no need for refined and toxic substances that overstimulate the taste buds, and therefore numb them.

Salt is a waste of time, an illusion really. You want it only if you eat it; pure addiction.

Drink agua instead and experience HEALTH!

yea! Great way of putting what it's like to eat this food... it's so good, full to overflowing in flavors but without numbing you or making you want what's not good for you.

You want it only if you eat it; pure addiction.

So cool to catch this! ^_^ I caught that about salt too.

yeah, to experiencing HEALTH!

thank you Shannon, Rainbow, Linda, CheL, Fruity Jules, and Helen for your comments!

Helen, I experience bloating when I consume cauliflower. Could that be the case for you? Experiment with abstaining from different foods to find what is causing this upset. It may also be the result of food combining. Maybe try experimenting with mono meals. Good luck friend!

This is good thank you. I am two weeks into eating LFRV with no salt. Like you I was eating copious amount of salt when on cooked vegan and last year I tried to go raw but the cravings were just too full on - I was putting salt and oil on everything so now I udnerstand why! I was also having fluctuating mood swings which became unbearable so that could well have been the salt as well. I'm finding eating LFRV very very easy - no cravings whatsoever and am fully all the time. However, I have experienced some full on bloating in the last three days which I'm trying to get to the bottom of. I'm consider doing the banana island thing and then reintroducing various furits and veg to see how I respond.

Oh also, my mother is doing this with me and her blood pressure, which has been high for nearly 30 years dangerously high for several years has dropped alomst down to normal! She puts it down to cutting out the salt.
