30 Bananas a Day!

Okay all, so i am in quite a pickle and could use some much needed advice. You see, last wednesday i was thrown off of a horse while riding and broke my wrist in like 5 places. The next day I had a plate put in, and was discharged for the next 6 weeks of summer; 2 of those weeks being my only vacation in the past 2 years (which will be spent on the beaches of cali), 1 of the days is my birthday, i'm moving out at the end of this week, and start medical school next month. Clearly, this was NOT the best time to break my wrist. On top of that, Im an avid runner and was running ~9-10 miles daily with an off day that i did Insanity (yay fruity energy!) so its understandable that i'm going insane with doctors orders to not run or do heavy exercise.
What i'd love to know is if anyone has ever had surgery (perhaps wrist) and what they did to stay in shape. Also, since i'm really inactive right now, does anyone know how i should adjust my calories? Like i said, i am going to cali and want to look good in my bikini (even tho i'll be sporting a cast), but i've already lost all definition in my abs & legs since just last wednesday (definition i worked hella hard to get!)
If ANY1 could help me out, i'd greatly appreciate it!

hahaha I'm a bit late with the advice but last March I broke both of my arms skateboarding and got surgery and still ran a full time business and went to school for engineering.... I just walked a LOT. And slept my head off and rested. Cheer up about the lack of definition in your abs, lot worse things than that. And you can still do sit ups ya?

Ouch..my wrist hurts for your wrist!
What did your doctor say in regards to exercise? I broke my wrist once. Didnt have surgery for it but have had surgery recently. My advice? Eat 811 and if you cant run then walk. You need to rest to heal and with lots of fruits and vegs you should heal smoothly and quickly. Keep the fats very low and your healing will be quicker...my experience anyway...Oh you might want to see a chiro or someone similar...I found my neck suffered some from my fall and wish I had followed up with that.

Good luck!
