Struggling cutting out last cooked meal of the day

I have found that I go through the day easily eating mono meals of fruit, but that I am looking forward to my cooked dinner a bit too much. I try to keep it low fat by having rice with a vegan option and a lot of spinach and sprouts, but I feel like it is just holding me back because it makes me crave sugar and salt like crazy. 

I was able to be 80% raw for the first 2 weeks and I really miss the feeling I had while following that way of eating and I did not have any cravings. I know I am just being silly and holding myself back, but I am not quite sure why.

I agree for sure, if I may add more - I used to always season my cooked rice dinner, then after a month or so - I started eating it plain and only seasoned it every once in a while. And I found that when I did season it, my digestion didn't feel as good, and I would always crave it plain. Haha, so good luck and good points for sure! :)

That's a good point NEY MELLO, to not go about this in the typical American fashion and force 100% raw when I am not ready for it. That's what I have been doing for the past few weeks, and it has backfired every day. 

I want this to be long term, so I will take things more gradually and stop being so hard on myself

Yes..Actually smoothies are half to 2/3 of a days meal content for me. If you wan to eat rice. remember that you don't have to salt it or add sugar or oil or butter. Just use curry, tomatoes, spring onions and garlic if you like. But add them uncooked or lightly steamed...Eventually you wont crave it anymore. But don'r become undully chained to it. It will become natural in due time.

 

Forcing it, is the American way of course , we know that. and the massive failures it causes...but it just brings pain and frustration... so instead do it..the natural way..gradually and don't add any additives such as, salt. oil , butter, sugar to your cooked food. That is the big difference.. Bon Appetit!!!

No problem! :) Hope it works out, just give it time. One more thing I should've mentioned first time - Start having a cooked meal only every other day for a week or so, then keep making it less frequently and eventually it'll be easier to let go of. Cheers Sasha!

Thank you Brandon for your input! I have really come to like smoothies and I could see them being big helps in going 100% raw. I will whip up a smoothie next time I get cooked food cravings!!

I know the feeling. Just last week I finally cut out my cooked rice dinner [which I've been doing for about 3 months] - and have been raw for over a week now. Still feel the cravings of having something warm and cooked, but I just go make a smoothie and once I start drinking it, the cravings go away haha. So just keep doing your best! It'll get better.
