Not gonna lie, after finishing my 150 days of 100% LFRV the last 3 days have been a serious rice bender, some of it homemade, some of it from restaurants. I just got back from a Thai place where I had to get a double order of curried vegetables with rice. It tasted delicious but DID NOT SATISFY ME. Oh man. I walked out of there holding my belly I was so stuffed. I mean I am frickin' pregnant with a rice baby right now. But it did not satisfy! I could have eaten till I burst and just wanted more.
I gotta say I am feeling freakin' fantastic lately. I got a serious pump down at Bonebreaker Barbell today, I know I am gonna be sore tomorrow. But I feel SOOOOO GOOD. I have a sense of security, centered-ness, contentedness and satisfaction with my life that I have not had in years... maybe ever. Coincidentally this started right when I started eating some cooked food again. But I don't think cooked food is the cause. I have been doing a lot of spiritual work on myself and I think it's all finally starting to come together.
Between Thai food and tacos I've basically had all the "cheats" I wanted. Neither of them were satisfying AT ALL. I just got stuffed and craved more. It's almost laughable how stupid it is. In the mornings I've been waking up with cottonmouth feeling pretty dehydrated. Luckily chugging down a liter of water cures that pretty easily.
Well I was going to give myself 1-2 weeks of cooked "treats". But I think after this short bender I may be seriously done with cooked food. It's almost like a joke to me. If you've ever read the book "The Phantom Tollbooth" it's the "subtraction soup" where the more you have of it, the hungrier you are. It seriously feels like that. I am eating and eating and eating, slamming it down yet can't get satisfied. Why bother? Fruit is DELICIOUS and just satisfies and satiates so well.
I've got a house FULL of awesome fruit. Santa Claus melons, honeydew, 1.5 cases of bananas, about 70 champagne mangoes (on sale AGAIN, son!! 3/$1 smalls, $1/ea bigs w00t!!!). I'm gonna seriously chow down this week. It's going to be frickin awesome
LIFE

Comment by MR. Brownstone on July 9, 2012 at 10:45pm i´m transitioning to 100 raw but le tme tell you that i feeling the oposite..the more fruit i eat the hunger i get..if i go to many hours without the cooked food i feel weak, irritable and lightheada and i crave so bad the cooked food like i´m a drug addicted..it´s almost impossible for me to function. i know it must be withdrawal symptoms.. if i eat 200 calories of cooked food symptoms go away.
i guess the opossite will happen too if are on a fruit vegetables diet for some time
Comment by Iron Clad Ben on July 3, 2012 at 1:58pm Only a tiny bit of discomfort. But I know if I ate soy or wheat it would destroy me.
Comment by Camille G on July 3, 2012 at 1:44pm Did you suffer any physical discomfort from eating the Thai and other foods?
Comment by Esra on July 2, 2012 at 3:51pm Wow, really interesting that you just can't get full on it! A couple of days ago I tried a piece of cucumber sushi (to see if sushi is as good as I remember, it was my favourite food before HCRV) and it took me forever to chew the whole piece and get it down...it was very strange to eat it after over a year of not having any cooked food - very different texture. Once you go HCRV, it's very hard to go back eh!
