I really struggle to eat cold food on cold damp rainy days. I usually do a frozen berry and banana smoothie and just had a hard time to enjoy this when it is so cold outside. I am not sure if this is just a mental habit or if this a physiological issue. I made some wild rice and warmed it up to get something I know would get me through the day. My mom is from south america and my favorite meal was rice and banana when I was a child, so you can say I am going to an old familiar dish for me. except I did wild rice for variety. Trying to do more raw but this season is just such a challenge. I did a arugula, orange, beet salad for something different. The beets were cooked however this prevented me from eating my usual avocado so the result was practically little fat as a result. I also have a lot of issues with cold feet and hands. Is this a issue of concern?
Also read on a ayurveda blog named "don't drink water with your meals" as it causes the "digestive fire" to be decreased particularly if the water is cold. It suggested to not drink 1/2 hour before or after a meal.
I am doing this journey with the end result to get optimal health and so I like to read around in traditional chinese medicine, natural remedies and ayurvedic websites to find improvements that I can do for my health.
I am very inspired by the 80/10/10 philosophy of eating foods in a natural state-raw just trying to find my way through this so that I can live with my food choices happily.
Would appreciate any helpful insights concerning these issues.
Love and Light.
