30 Bananas a Day!

So I just wan't to know if anyone has trouble doing a monomeal of ripe pears. I had six this morning on an empty stomach (1ltr of water an hour prior to eating) and about ten minutes after I finished I copped a good 15min cramp session (stomach cramps that is) They were same variety as the pear in the middle (Bartlett) of the photo I attached. They were super ripe and so delicious but don't know if I want to have another go.

Anyone got pear thoughts?

Yeah just eat dates instead. Make dateorade and even add some pears. They will go down much better with the dates at a ratio of maybe 1/3 pears.

Yes!!!

I am looking for a way to replace bananas :( As they are soo expensive!

So I bought $40? worth of pears this week, heaps!!

Did 15 for lunch  and feel sluggy, and I drank 3L of water today so? they were ripe too! as in really soft.

I peeled them today and still bleh! :) but so ripe and juicy it's confusing :)

I feel better now I was thinking it was just me :)

Thanks ;D

What is your opinions as to what is best to replace banana's people? like similar carb ratio? I am addicted and going broke with my cravings and I stupidly thought pears was the go this week :)

Thanks!!

I seem to have a problem with pears too, love them when they are really juicy and sweet, but they mess with my gut.
I have found that the longer I am 811 things change so I will keep giving pears a try every once in a while. Not too many at once though.

Hi, Daniel . . .

I don't eat the cores, seeds, or skins of any fruit unless it can't be helped. Like with strawberries, for example.

I think seeds and skins serve no purpose to us and they are difficult for the body to deal with. Hope this helps! ♥

Oh wow!
I knew that I should have become a member of 30BaD a long time ago. In fact a member of any forum that revolve around being a lfrv. I have been in the dark for way too long when it comes to all of this. So just want to say thank you to all those who have responded already. I truly appreciate it. Heaps!

So the pears! Well to answer you michelle, they could probably keep ripening (which I am going to let them do) but they weren't crunchy at all and I didn't eat the core. I know I didn't eat the core because it was so easy to basically pull out. I will keep experimenting!

That kind of brings me to another q. Should we not eat the cores and seeds of any fruit? Including watermelon? I have heard so many mixed opinions on this topic. Just want to put it out there.

Now by super ripe do you mean . . .

1. So juicy and delicious that the flesh was falling off the core
2. When you got to the core you ate it and didn't notice
3. They are sexy in texture, messy, and dripping with juice.
4. Not crunchy at all.

They only get that delicious when you put them in the dark and forget about them for a few of days. You will know they are ready when your kitchen smells like a pear orchard. Organic pears are so much easier to bring to this level of deliciousness because they ripen much faster without the anti-ripening agents.

When they are truly ripe, no tummy ache.

That's what my pears and peaches have to be like or else I just think they're inedible. I would rather have a mango than spend time waiting for pears to ripen.

I have the same issues with pears and apples, a number of people do. doesn't seem to matter how ripe they are, or whether I peel them or not. my guess is it's the insoluble fiber content, but who knows.

I have found that all fruits have their "qualities." Pears and apples, for example, are cleansing. Personally, I rarely eat these fruits. I will eat small amounts, mostly just for taste or variety.

If I want lots of sugar for fuel I eat bananas or dates.

If I want lots of liquid with my sugar, I eat oranges or melons.

If I lived in the tropics I would eat lots of mangoes and papayas as they are well-balanced and are delicious when ripe from the tree.

So if I came across some pears that were awesome, I would probably eat only 1 or 2 as a snack, knowing they would give me some liquid refreshment and some cleansing. I would not expect to get lots of nutrition or fuel from them.

Hope this helps . ♥

Ya - I had *oow oow oow* problems with any more than 3 at a time, but I don't think it's that way for a large number of people.
Mine were organic from Argentina. I'll see if the local ones in the fall are better.
