I have recently bought a new cycle for commuting to work. As I work as a teacher in New Zealand we have been on our summer break for the last month so I haven't had a chance to take it to work yet. My commute is 22km each way.
I have been riding an aluminium hybrid for the last 14 years and although it was fine I was finding it difficult to keep up with one of my friends on their racing bike.
Wow, what a revelation this bike has been. Everywhere I ride it is 6-7 km/h faster for the same amount of effort. Also, when climbing hills it is so much more effortless. It is as if every peddle thrusts you forwards. I have no idea where my effort went to on my old bike! I don't know why I waited so long before upgrading to a better bike.
