So, this is my first complete week of being 100% HCRV, and I have to say, that I've done pretty well. I haven't had any cravings for cooked food, but I have had cravings for something other than sweet fruit. So, instead of fruit, I ate vegetables. Fortunately this worked. I've been using cronometer, and wow, you have to eat ALOT! This is where I am having my problems. The most calories I have gotten in any given day is 1700, followed by 1500, and then on other days, averaging 1200. I KNOW that isn't enough. I run at least 5 miles a day. I have been eating so much; any suggestions on how to add calories with not so much food? One morning I ate an entire half of a watermelon, and I thought I would burst afterwards. Man, that's hard to do! I bought some raw revolution food bars, but that also adds extra fat, as well as does most nuts and seeds. I love veggies too, but there are hardly any calories in them. I notice by the end of the day, I'm zonked! I know this is because I'm not getting adequate calories.
Problems this week: I ate an entire pinapple over the course of a couple of hours, and wow,my stomach was on fire afterwards. I hurt for the rest of the day. I love pinapple too, so that was a bummer. Any suggestions on how to ease the burn after eating pinapple, or maybe something that mixes well with it?
One more question, anyone know where to order dates? I want to try this datorade everyone is talking about. Oh, and dehydrator or no dehydrator?
Other than being tired in the evenings, I have to admit, I feel amazing, and my digestive system has been amazing. That's a big deal for me; I have IBS. My face has been glowing, and other than the day I had pineapple, my normal runs have felt easy. I'm looking forward to learning new tricks and adding more raw recipes to my diet.

Before you eat a pinapple, it should be immersed in saline water or hot water, with a view to eliminate bromelin.
Well, I can only run 900 metres every morning in a stadium nearby. I run around the track three times, and walk the same distance.
Comment by Kimberly Klos on May 14, 2012 at 1:12pm Thanks guys! Today I got 1500 calories, and that's nowhere near enough. My body can tell. I guess it will be a slow process to get my stomach to hold more food. I was always accustomed to restricting my calories before, so now that I don't have to do that, it's hard for me to hold so much food at once. I'll def check out the website and order some dates!
Comment by Esra on May 14, 2012 at 12:09pm I think the reason your stomach hurt after the pineapple is because they rarely get ripe...even if I eat a PIECE of grocery store bought pineapple (vs. a tree ripened one, I could eat several whole ones!) my tongue starts to itch and if I keep eating more my lips swell up for a couple of days :S.
Try banana smoothies :), that's what worked for me, and now I CAN'T eat less than 2500-3000/day (I'm 110 and 5'4")! Start with 6-7 medium ones, and then up your way slowly until you can get 12-15
Comment by Tesseract on May 14, 2012 at 11:03am I order bulk dates from Shields: http://www.shieldsdategarden.com/c-17-promotions.aspx
After shipping, I've ended up paying about three dollars per pound for dates...great deal!
Anyway, glad you're making progress and sticking to it! :-) It gets easier with time.
