30 Bananas a Day!

This is my 9th day 100% raw. I have been building up over the months leading up to this being 60-90% raw. I tried cold turkey first but the so called detox symptoms were too heavy and I was working at the same time so I took it back a notch and built up to it. Now my worst detox symptom is that I'm itchy, everything else has been uphill, even lost 7 kilos of visceral fat (the type the builds up around your organs) and water just in the build up and I am already slim.

As I live in Japan (Tokyo) right now I would love to know if there is anyone in the area that is a raw fooder or 100% vegan as well. I wanna get together eat, exercise, and talk to people as this has radically changed my social life. I am not invited out much anymore as all my friends are very 'normal' so to speak.

The bulk of my exercise is gymnastic strength training. People tell me I am too old(29) for this kind of thing but as long as I am trying to defy my lifestyle that I have had until now I am happy to try more despite the looks I get. I never really exercised except some Tae Kwon Do when I was a teen.

I am enjoying everything this lifestyle is bringing me but some more people alongside all cheering each other along would be nice.

There'll be a lot of gourmet high fat probably, too, but I find the company of raw foodies in general awesome.  Just bring a wagon of fruit :)

Hey darlin hang in there.  Are you familiar with meetup.com ?  Put in your area code and search key words like raw food or 811 etc.  I did a quick Tokyo search and there is at least one raw vegan group there--it has 450 members.  They haven't been that active, maybe a meetup/month.  Sometimes the organizers really appreciate a bit of support by sending them ideas, and offering to help organize.  I've made at least 50 raw-food friends in my area by connecting with raw meetups in Vancouver.

Congratulations!

I will be in Japan for around a month this coming fall. I was in Taiji for 3 weeks this past November for the Sea Shepherd Cove Guardian campaign. This being said, I am in no way anti-japanese, and infact I loved the culture while I was there! Everyone I encountered went out of their way to be very friendly and helpful. I very much look forward to going back, even if it is morose and difficult being in Taiji.

I hear you. I also love this lifestyle so much, except that i am feeling very lonely at times. And to have 'loving and nurturing relationships' is very important (together with sugar, water, sleep, sunshine, fresh air, exercise...). Somehow i just don't manage to meet up with any 801010ers (because there aren't any around where i live at the moment). And as you said, many old 'friends' stop being in touch because one is just somehow weird for them.

Anyway, i should stop being whiny and just be glad that there is this website, where there is someone online for 24hours a day, and the people on here are so swell it is incredible!

Hug and love to you!
