"People say I'm too skinny. I say they're too f***in slow."
I just got back from a wet, windy, and bloody cold sprint triathlon. I came first place in the 20-24 age group (and i'm only 19!) but still not sure where I came overall because the final results are yet to be posted...I'll update this blog when I see those...
I'd like to thank the 811 diet because over the past 12 days I haven't done much training at all and still had a great race. I biked twice, ran once, and swam 3 times in the past couple weeks but still managed to finish the race in 1hr 14min :D
10 minutes into the bike my feet were completely numb. I was cursing the weather and didn't know how I would be able to run-let alone slip my feet into my shoes. It took me 3km to finally get a good-solid-steady-fast pace going so I only truly felt strong on the last 2km. I ended the race with my signature sprint to the finish where the commentator said: "If Ted swam and biked as fast as he ran he's sure to have a great time!" ;)My first sprint triathlon times:750m swim 13min
(aimed for a sub 12. There were 8 other people in my double sized lane though!)20km bike 40min
(right on target)5km run 21min
(was hoping for a sub 20 :(
Before the race I ate 2 bananas and 2 oranges and drank/juiced(w/ my mouth [thanks for the idea Michael Arnstein]) 15 oranges. During the race I only drank coconut water. And after while I waited around for my PRIZE I ate 2lbs of dates. For dinner I'll have a big bag of spinach followed by 20-30 navel oranges :D
