Over the last 6 months I have had various people ask me about David Icke. They want to know if I have heard of him & what I think of him. I personally really like what he stands for, although his message is nothing new. His main message is: life as we know it is an illusion. This I already learned from studying Vedanta (more specifically Advaita Vedanta) 13 years ago. There are also other authors & lecturers that had a similar message to Icke (Or is it the other way around?) over 60+ years ago. Great minds like Aldous Huxley, & Eric Fromm, as well as many others have made the same points. (Interesting though that Aldous Huxley & Eric Fromm studied Vedanta as well.)
The three main points I've seen David Icke present are;

I understood this from a very good translation of Shankara - who is like - the greatest scholar of all on this.
The world and its phenomena is NOT an illusion - it is relatively real - and the phenomena of relativity happen in and come forth from - the absolutely real. The absolutely real and the relatively real are not separate - they are ONE - ONE WITHOUT A SECOND.
The practical benefits that one receives from pondering this truth are - that generally - it elevates ones status in life from small and individual, to cosmically huge, important, and universal. Then ones thoughts become more powerful and more mistake free -
One starts to understand the poetry of Blake when he says " to see the world in a grain of sand / and heaven in a wild flower / to hold infinity in the palm of your hand / and eternity in an hour . . .
In short - you become ( or know yourself to already be ) a cosmically powerful being capable of moving the universe -
But truthfully - these gurus who say that - the world, and life, are just an "illusion" - this negates experiential life and is NOT correct. Perhaps if the word "drama" were used instead of "illusion" - that might be a better translation. No - our experiences are relatively real - and our existence is absolutely real - and there is a unity of connection that can be very useful.
