I'm completely in awe at the human body, specifically MY body on 811. It is swiftly turning into the most efficient machine I've ever imagined. I've eaten 2500 calories the last few days and taken rest days from exercise, and I lost a pound. My body fat percentage is probably around 15% - most of my weight loss and fitness goals are already met at this point.
After years of struggling with body issues and calorie restriction, it's amazing to be able to eat until I'm satisfied and feel SO comfortable in my own skin.
I can wear sexy outfits when I go out with no self consciousnesses!
I have boundless energy to explore the city I live in!
I can inspire my friends who have health issues!
I'm not an athlete exactly, but I do exercise a lot. Consistency builds discipline. I don't do it because of specific health goals, I do it to do it, because it makes me feel great, and I love it. I take the time to work on myself, because it's something no one will able be able to take away from me. It gives me a huge endorphin rush, and it gives me the appetite to eat more delicious fruit. I also eat a lot of salad greens, with essentially every meal.
I'm not perfect yet, and I don't really think of myself as a representative of the 811 diet yet, because it's been such a struggle for me along the way (primarily because of disordered eating thoughts and a high stress lifestyle). I still slip up, but the power of low fat, high fruit diets is remarkable, even for people who aren't 100% perfect yet. Transitioning has been harder for me than almost anyone it seems, but it's been so so so worth it. 4 years in and I am over the moon with my health pretty much every day. I admit, it feels good for all the right reasons, and a few superficial ones as well!
