Call me judgmental, but when watching this videos about Fruit Woodstock and seeing so much of the "Raw Brahs" I feel like it's almost disrespectful to let people who eat animal to those events. Not only are they no longer vegans they're no longer raw, so why are they allowed to be part of raw vegan communities? I guess it's not my place to say who can do what but it annoys me and I wondered if it was annoying anyone else.

Comment by PK on March 22, 2012 at 12:09am Hey all,
Put everyone's mind at ease who see things differently here, this is what the organizer has said in regards to the issue, and IMO, is very diplomatic:
Permalink Reply by Michael Arnstein on February 24, 2012 at 8:49pmDiscussions between WFF admin and the Rawbrahs have resulted in a mutually shared agreement that Rawbrahs will NOT be participating as work exchange or as a vendor at WFF in 2012. If they decide to attend it will be as a paying attendee.

IMO, this is very fair. They are welcome to attend as paying members, and yes, "eat healthy for a week." However, they will not be put into leadership roles where people who are looking for good examples might follow them.

Comment by fswartz on March 21, 2012 at 4:53pm i can see why people would be tured off by their attendance, but i don't feel the same way. I'm not going (can't afford it), but I don't feel like their attendance would really be harmful. for one, they have tried this lifestyle and they fully promote it, along with other lifestyle choices that the LFRV community doesn't promote. if they want to go to woodstock and be raw for a week and thrive with everyone else, i think that's great and highly encourage it, just as i'd encourage it to anyone who isn't raw or vegan. for instance if my parents wanted to go (they aren't vegan) i'd be stoked. excluding people is just so negative, so that's what turns me off most.
Comment by Julie Groenewald on March 21, 2012 at 6:09am I agree, they should in all honesty be part of their own community. They are nice people etc but we are trying to accomplish something and it can confuse people outside the vegan community who are new. Personally I do not have the money to go, but in all honesty if I did have the money I would rather go to a true fruitarian gathering somewhere else. Not that they are not inspiring but it is just not right, maybe I can invite the local meat eating body builders here too, they too can join right? If raw brahs can so can they? :) Just my humble opinion, sorry if it sounds judgemental but I must say I appreciate 30BAD for banning them here. This forum is the SALT of the EARTH!. Thanks Freelee and DR- you two rock!!! :D
yeah last page on that thread, Michael said they aren't going..
Comment by Chelsey Lace Leon on March 21, 2012 at 5:11am Thanks for the link Jelle, and PK I know they are no longer part of 30BaD but people in the vegan raw foodist community still promote them and interview them, and I feel it's very detrimental to the vegan movement condoning people like the Raw Brahs to run in the same circles.

Comment by PK on March 21, 2012 at 3:15am The Rahbrahs are not currently part of the 30BaD community, so feel at home here.
You might want to ask the organizers of Woodstock this question. I think for the most part, if people attend those functions, and abide by the rules while they are there, they are not refused.
However, if the RBs are still being given positions of authority, then this should be questioned because people are looking up to them as examples.
I am not currently up to date on Woodstock gossip, so if there is an issue there, feel free to speak up with those organizers. May be if enough people speak up, this nonsense will stop.
Peace, PK
