This is a case for maintaining your healthy raw diet during holiday gorging feasts and turkey corpse celebrations.
Donʻt get me wrong, I love being with friends and family on the holidays, that is the best part.
But the food is hard.
Having gone to thanksgiving pot lucks now, I know how this goes. You bring your raw food with you. But I feel funny about just eating what I brought. So I end up eating a tablespoon of mash potatoes, a small piece of the sugary sweet potatoes, and a sliver of the eggy buttery pie. Then I feel like I have a brick in my stomach. So I drink tons of water and fast to help my body digest and rehydrate after the heavy cooked dried out food, and dwell on it only minimally. I Just get right back to my wonderfully vibrant fruit.
Just do the best you can. And get back to your healthy raw life style the next day.
You donʻt want to insult people who slaved in the kitchen all day. At least I donʻt.
People want a celebration on the holidays, they don't want to confront their health issues.
so serve up some rawgourmet foods that resembles flavors they are used to. Do the best you can or go to the party after the meal is over. Say you have eaten already and just want to visit with everybody.
You can also avoid going, if you really think you wonʻt be able to get back on track the next day. Like an alcohol addiction avoiding bars, avoid temptation and the peer pressure all together.
Also these holidays just encourage more animal slaughter which is very upsetting. As Durian Rider has said animals are your friends not your food. You can survive without making food out of these poor defenseless creatures. So eat your holiday food raw vegan.
Try holiday raw recipes instead keep a clear conscious. Save your health. Here are some holiday raw recipes I have brought to thanksgiving potlucks and people like them and wanted the recipes. I would double these recipes

Comment by elyse cruise on December 9, 2011 at 1:28pm yes, the spinach pie is a once a year recipe with too many nuts. The nuts on the other recipes are optional. Thanks Fruitfiend for the comment!
