Today we have a beautiful day here in Slovenia. Spring is coming up and the sun is shining warm. But few minutes ago I received a phone call from one social worker who told me that our government has now changed their social policy toward students like me and now we have to pay for our own health insurance from our pockets! What the hell? I don’t work and I don’t have any money for these things. All I have is my small scholarship (280€ a month) that gives me shelter in my university center and of course enough so I can buy my self fruits and vegetables. Where can I find now extra 40€ a month to pay for my own health insurance? Let me remind you that in my country we all have to pay for insurance our we end up without any medical help at all. That means even if I break my leg somewhere in the mountain I will have to pay full price for my medical care. So now I am in a big dilemma what to do??? 40€ is a big money for me. That’s around 30kg of bananas a month! You probably think that I should better find my self a good job. But now it is impossible because here we have a recession. Everybody is unemployed. I see that my good friend that I spoken to yesterday was right. We young, educated and experienced people will have to leave this country and find better opportunities somewhere else. Australia for example, hehe. But I don’t care. I have my yoga every day so I am not frustrated and I think positive and I believe that I will mange my problem somehow. But still dilemma exists. Bananas or obligate health insurance? My answer is bananas! Why? Because fruits and greens are my truth health insurance...Stay possitiv and thrust your guts!
