[Posting this a few days late, since I was at a meditation retreat without Internet access]
Breakfast: 3 apples, 4 bananas
Lunch: 3 apples, 9 dates
Water: ~5l
Exercise: ~1h hiking with heavy bags
It's going fine. Eating that little bothers me much less than I thought it would, and the Indian food the others eat (rice and lentil sauce) is less and less tempting. I guess the meditation starts to do its job: as monk Ajahn Brahmali said: you can't avoid temptation with control, you can only avoid it with wisdom.
So I guess I'm wise enough today to see that the rice and lentils wouldn't really be good for me. Maybe I'd enjoy the food for a few minutes, but I'd feel bad afterwards, and probably more hungry. So I'm happy about today's attitude.
I really enjoy meditation. My back and neck hurt badly though, so I need to take more breaks than I wanted.
Since I ate so little during the retreat, I have to carry a whole lot of fruit back. 1h with heavy backpacks and two bags, in pouring rain. We all took it with a smile though :-) And I didn't eat anything for the rest of the day, even though the hike took some extra energy. I'll be hungry tomorrow, that's for sure! :-)
I feel at peace. The retreat was a healing experience, I hope I can do more of that sort in the future, and integrate a regular practice into my everyday life.
