I've been craving nuts so much the past few days! And seeds! I did up eating a handful of raw cashews that I found in the freezer when I couldn't take it anymore! I've been feeling really cold and pale in the face while getting my fat from just one half of an avocado per day. In the past when I was a fruitarian I ate way more fat. I was eating a few avocados a day sometimes and tons of dates. Why is my body so different now? That was only two months ago. It seems the only time I feel well/look well and lose weight is when I don't eat the dates. I still think they are likely the culprit of the rash I've been getting on my cheeks but it hasn't really happened this time. I ate a bunch of dates the other day because I couldn't stand my date fast/allergy test any longer and I got the worst stomach pains! I couldn't sleep, even. Then...I ate them again today. :( I love them so much! I wish I'd get sick of them already. Also I've been having problems with a lot of acidity in my stomach. This hasn't happened to me in probably five years so it's been a little jarring. On a related note, I haven't gotten my period either so...?
I had some friends in town and so I didn't run this weekend but I'm excited to get back on track and keep steadily beating my times every day. It's been really nice to finally be able to run. I don't know why it's possible now in my life...but perhaps it really is the fruit.
I made a really interesting dinner tonight. Berbere Beet Burger Wraps
Just blended one beet, two carrots, cilantro, berbere seasoning, one cup of re-hydrated sun-dried tomatoes, one cup of kale, half a cup of tomatoes, cumin to make the meat--placed on red leaf lettuce and red cabbage wrap. If I made it again, I would have just wrapped the burger meat in kale and not used the cabbage or put kale in the meat. The kale took away from the taste I wanted when I put it in at the end. I wished for more fenugreek. I adore fenugreek!
I was SO FULL, even without using the soaked and then ground flaxseed that I would have normally used (and honey). I really miss being a raw food chef though!
