So thanks to all the info and help i got yesterday this has been the best day this far, thanks all for that!!! I did have oranges and i eat 400g of silverbeet to get the sodium and that rly did the trick. I still have a faint headace and i have lots of little dots infront of my eyes but im feeling better as a whole. However i wonder one thing from you who has been on 811 for 12months+, are you all that sensitive that when you undereat one day you feel like s***, if you dont sleep 10h you feel like s***, if you dont exercise s*** again etc. Im reading this all over the forum, just curious :)
Had a strange experience today also, my girlfrind had been to the gym and used the deo they have there, when se got home and i smelt it, it were like poision for me, i got sick and my head hurt. Never had problem with that before...
My exercise was onese again long walks and my menu was:
26bananas
10oranges
400g silverbeet

Comment by Henrik Larsson on October 5, 2012 at 10:41am It is funny thogh how i always though i was free from all obsessive behaviors since i never wanted to smoke, drink, eat sugar, gamble or other things people get obsessed with but then when i stopted eating food i know that food had been en addiction since i felt like an alcoholic and i think you all know what i mean. Maby the best thing we could to to help others would be to study how alcoholics anonymous do there work and then aply that to people that are trying to go 811...
Comment by Henrik Larsson on October 5, 2012 at 10:37am Im more from the segment that tried everything because i got sick about 12years ago (not anything that got to do with eating disorders). That made me think about what i should eat and things got a little better but not good enogh. Since i hate buying and preparing food and at the same time i cant eat junkfood 811 is perfect for me, i dont want eating to be part of my life, i just want the energy and helth that comes from it so i can do what i like all the time. If there were a pill i could take that gave me all that and i would never have to spend time eating i would take that :) (actually sounds like aeating dissorder in it selfe).
Comment by Lisa Dee on October 5, 2012 at 8:27am No, Jack, I am personally not obsessed with food or how many bananas I eat. But thanks for you concern. I also believe I am representative of the norm in this community. I was trying to be as constructive as possible as well, if you'd bother to read my comment. To me the suggestion that MOST 801010s (or A LOT) are food obsessed or hypochondriacs is what troubled me - it could put someone off this diet quite easily - I mean, are you serious when you say that? I tried to point out that that only seems to be the case on the surface but that it is actually a healthy sign and shouldn't be misinterpreted. Yes, there are those here with eating disorders and problematic food obsessions and they are pretty open about it. Most of us came here for other reasons and do not have a problem.
It's a shame you can express yourself differently, Jack. It really gets in the way of a rational discussion.
Comment by Yogaranka on October 5, 2012 at 7:53am Lisa Dee, Jack did not suggest that 8/1/1 promotes binge eating or that sort of behaviour, he simply noted his observation, that a lot of people come here from that kind of background. He was pretty harsh in telling us that he does not want to read your comment, that was a bit rude, but he is right. Most people come here for help, and come to this lifestyle to eat all you want and not suffer, however, it isn't so easy, so he suggested, when we start actually coming in to terms with our feelings and emotions, as the dead food does not suppress that down for us, we panic and sometimes over play the importance of food, instead of just sitting down for a moment and relax.
However, you are also right, Lisa Dee, that this lifestyle enables people to get over serious health stuffs, and it truly is one lifestyle that will keep one healthy on the long run, with no bad side effects. Calorie awareness is one important element of the game. I have to do it, even if I don't feel like it, and surprise, surprise! some days I'm way under, and some days I am just right. It is a learning game, and fun as it is. Keep reading, and helping, and munching sweet fruit! ;-)
Comment by Lisa Dee on October 5, 2012 at 7:12am After reading only the first sentence of your reply Jack G, I, too, ceased to read your response.
Try re-reading your own comment, Jack. Here, I'll highlight it for you in case you are having some difficulties. If you didn't mean to suggest it, you should perhaps add an addendum to these comments to clarify:
Henrick, most of the 80/10/10ers tend to be hypochondriacs and binge eaters or people with other eating disorders (orthorexia etc.) is what I have noticed.
A lot of the people here have an unhealthy obsession with food, their day revolves around the thought of it. They wanted to be able to eat food all day without having to worry about calories and gaining fat, which led them here. so when the emotional comfort of the food is gone for even a few hours they begin to develop serious anxiety and make things up like feeling sick/having headaches etc..
You're welcome.
Comment by Lisa Dee on October 5, 2012 at 4:37am We've been so indoctrinated by the "CUT CALORIES" for most of our life, that we need to spend some time re-learning how to eat. We need to become comfortable with eating itself. That's why people keep track here so assiduously - esp at the start of being fully raw. You're learning all over again and you need to have some idea of what a normal amount of food is - it's NOT what we've been taught. 801010 cures eating disorders, if given enough time, from what I've read.
You might feel weird after not eating enough because your body is finally getting the nutrition it wants and it does not want you to stop and go back to the old habits. It's the same way that one's digestion becomes more finely attuned - your body coped as well as it could when you threw garbage into it, but now you're becoming clean, it really doesn't want to go back to disasterous food combos. So listen to your body - don't undereat and don't mix the wrong foods.
Comment by Raini Pachak on October 5, 2012 at 2:08am It's all relative, man. Maybe one day I won't exercise and I won't feel nearly as good as I would have had I ran a few miles but I wouldn't say I felt like Shi*... beating myself up about it would make me feel more like shi* than not exercising. But on the other hand if I were to eat some stir fry, the cooked oils would make me feel like hell. I would start sweating and itching and scratching and acne would appear within hours and I wouldn't be able to sleep due to cold sweats etc. Yes, some of us really are that sensitive but I wouldn't say it's a bad thing. As long as we do what makes us feel best, there are no problems. Getting over ourselves and controlling those little voices in our head that say "ehhh you can exercise later" or " ehhh just one bite won't hurt" is the real issue you will find yourself having trouble dealing with. It's all about intention.
Comment by rawcelt on October 4, 2012 at 6:42pm Same here. Like TheFruitMeister, I cannot claim to be a long-termer (I am a very short, short-termer of about 5 days 100% raw) but perfumes are a real problem for me. A friend of mine wears the same perfume (well-known Italian designer brand) and I have to keep my distance from her because I get such a severe headache.
Comment by Georgina TheFruitMeister on October 4, 2012 at 6:24pm I'm not sure about the sensitivity to lack of sleep etc. cause I'm not a long-termer, but when it comes to perfumes/chemicals I know exactly what you mean, they make me gag :/
