Couldn't sleep past 3am again this morning. Wow, what is up with that. I do look back at my past history with cooked foods and would always eat a very heavy meal that would make me feel full and I would sleep very heavily as if I were knocked out by a "food coma" now I guess without the heavy stomach I am waking up from 3-4 am everyday thus far. Not sure if this aspect of my journey is going to correct itself or what I should do about it. I have always needed to sleep a minimum of 8 hours or more to feel refreshed. I guess my body is just handling a lot of the detox phase. I am now trying to really up my water amounts to help my body flush out the toxins and adjust to this radical eating program from my previous eating habits. I can say I always had good skin then about 8 months ago I got this crazy rash across my forehead that would not go away, Well guess what it was a food related issue as now the tiny rash blisters are healing in this short time.Wow, here I was going to a facialist and putting topical creams to get rid of it and the issue was some kind of food allergy. Just a lesson as to what my body was telling me and I handled it from the wrong end.
I wonder how many other health issues will go away with this program. I need this validation to give me the added conviction to get through the trying moments of trying to establish new habits and override my false belief and habits that did not serve me. I also noticed my throat feels off at this time as if I am on the verge of a bronchial inflection but not quite there. That is what it feels like.
Yesterday, ate a lot of watermelon and another salad for dinner with a few shavings of avocado.
I tend to still want a savory dinner with lots to chew so it is salad thus far for me.
Trying to keep it simple.

Comment by BellaMariposa on September 16, 2012 at 10:23am Yippee, another day almost done and have tried a mono fruit meal as a way to make it easier for myself to do this program and so mango was my fruit of choice for breakfast and lunch. I ate a big head of romaine lettuce and put all kinds of veggies and 1 whole avocado diced in with some hot pepper that I got from my friend's garden. I still like the avocado for my evening meal and 1 whole avocado is a bit more fat than I should have but from where I am coming from of the cooked food world this is a giant leap forward. I keep my avocado fat meal separate from my fruit meals so appreciate the food combining reminder. This food combining philosophy is reminiscent of the Fit for Life book by Diamond. I continue to love the idea of eating as much of fruit or vegetables as you like. That is so helpful to me who has always had a tendency to be a big eater. Now I am feasting on all the foods that leaves me satisfied and gives me the best chance of get my nutritional requirements met. I am so happy to be relieved of the prior "deprivation" always hungry feeling of my previous diet attempts.
Yippee. I appreciate any helpful tips or insights about the sleeping issue I am currently experiencing.
Have a nice evening.
