30BaD FADs: Random Member Suspensions

30BaD FADs:  Frequently Added Discussions

Why do abusive forum members get banned?

Why does 30BaD censor or edit discussions?

Why is 30BaD a dictatorship and not a democracy?

How come there is no freedom of screech?

Do the peacekeepers just randomly suspend people for fun?

Answers to these questions include:
  1. Hearsay Evidence
  2. Democracy
  3. Signup Agreement
  4. Evidence for Guidelines
  5. When Not in Agreement
  6. 30BaD Behavior

Hearsay Evidence

Some people asking such questions have had nothing happen to themselves, rather, they read gossip on Facebook, or heard something on YouTube amateur hour. They then pick up their own axe to grind with 30BaD.

In a court of law this is considered hearsay and is usually inadmissible.  Hearsay is information gathered by one person from another person concerning some event, condition, or thing of which the first person had no direct experience. When submitted as evidence, such statements are called hearsay evidence. As a legal term, "hearsay" can also have the narrower meaning of the use of such information as evidence to prove the truth of what is asserted. Such use of "hearsay evidence" in court is generally not allowed. This prohibition is called the hearsay rule.

In these cases, one has to ask why they are getting so emotional over such hearsay evidence, and gossip from people they may have never met and never will meet?

If experience here @30BaD has been positive and or life changing, does hearsay really matter?

Democracy

30BaD is a democracy.  When people sign up and or log in, they do so of their own free will, and by doing so, are casting their vote in favor of 30BaD ideology, rules, and regulations.

Membership @30BaD is at will membership with both parties having the right to terminate the membership at anytime. By signing up and participating here @BaD, one is voting with their membership in favor of 30BaD policies, rules, and regulations.

In life, we are entitled to our rights, but these rights also come with responsibilities.  At 30BaD, members have the right to discuss and get assistance in following whole raw fresh fruit and lettuce green based diet, and to do the same regarding animal rights and environmental issue.

Members have a responsibility to stay on topic and assist other members in doing so in a respectful manner, and without scamming, spamming, slamming or other forms of harassment.

30BaD Banana Wagon Tour

The banana wagon tour answers a lot of the who, what, where, when, how, and why questions that many people ask.

Evidence for Guidelines

  1. Why a plant based diet for humans? The China Study by T. Colin Campbell
  2. Why we do not consume pus and other dairy products:  www.notmilk.com
  3. The 80 10 10 Diet By Dr. Graham  The 80 10 10 diet takes this a step farther in explaining the optimal plant based diet and why.  This is to encourage people not just to live, and be fine, but to thrive.  The 811 book explains our physiology and why we are not carnivores and grainivores, and why a diet based on whole raw fresh fruit and leafy greens is optimum for us, and what diseases we can avoid and or heal such as diabetes and candida.  The 80 10 10 diet was written in simple terms so that lay people could understand it and follow it.  However, there is a reference section in the back where people who are interested can do further research from the same sources that Dr. Graham got his information.
  4. For more advice on how to follow the HCRV diet and way of life, Freelee's ebook is available for purchase:  Go Fruit Yourself
  5. Improving on Pritikin:  You Can Do Better By Ross Horne A free ebook coming to a similar HCRV conclusion.

When Not in Agreement

After reading the above materials and scoping out 30BaD, people are not convinced they want to follow the guidelines when posting, they should not sign up.

After signing up, one finds they are not in agreement, they can keep quiet, ask a 30BaD team member to suspend their accounts but leave their discussions in tact, or delete their own accounts and leave those who are in agreement in a mature and peaceful fashion.

For those with an axe to grind, or wish to follow animal based diets such as paleo, high fat diets, high protein diets, low carb and or low calorie diets, or even cooked vegan diets, please read this post and then:

Take it Somewhere Else

30BaD Behavior

So for those who do not volunteer to take it somewhere else, here is how the 30BaD team handles things.

Be it known that 30bananasaday does not discriminate based on gender, creed, color, ethnicity, faith, orientation, or race (for ultimately aren't we all part of just one--the human race?) In your communications on this forum, we appreciate your respectful consideration of your fellow Earthlings.

30BaD does have guidelines about posting here and posts that are outside of those guidelines are edited, deleted or responded to accordingly, it's been that way since the beginning and it is one of the reasons this place is the gem that it is, always keeping the focus on the high carb 811 lifestyle.

The Durianrider 'sinbin'

As much as we don't like to censor anyone and avoid doing so, we feel these guidelines are necessary to maintain the integrity of the community.

Please read Forum Guidelines before posting

Please address any questions, comments or criticisms about the 30BaD guidelines and or moderation to a peacekeeper, the forums are not the place to do this.

If you make a habit of being disrespectful to the 30BaD team you may be deleted from the forum. This kind of behaviour is unnecessary and we will not support it.

Speak your mind but keep it helpful!

Posts that are outside of 30BaD guidelines, too off topic, a distraction or deemed inappropriate will be edited or deleted.  It's up to you to contact a peacekeeper if you have any questions, comments or criticisms about moderation, the forums are not the place to do this.

The 30BaD crew is fair and never bans anyone for no reason and any decisions they make are final and not open to debate.  30BaD has a 1 month cooling off period for anyone suspended.  This gives them time to re-read the guidelines and get a feel for the forum.  If suspended members would like to rejoin after their month off, they can message the administrators through the 30BaD message box that comes up when they try to sign in.

If we discover you deliberately misrepresenting 30BaD on other forums we may  remove your profile from 30BaD, after all why be somewhere that you do not want to be?

Abusing, stalking, and harassment of other members and or the 30BaD team is not tolerated and will lead to an instant deletion.

It is 30BaD's policy that people should not make sexual jokes about someone's body if the person they are commenting on has not done anything to invite them to do this.  This is a forum about health and bodies and is family friendly.  Clear boundaries are important in order for people to feel comfortable and respected, and it should be assumed that if someone hasn't behaved in a sexual and flirty way when discussing their own body, then sexual language from strangers is not welcome.  This is a healthy way to ensure that all of us of every age and gender have an equal opportunity to benefit from the high quality of guidance on this forum when it comes to matters of their bodies and how they are responding to the lfrv diet and lifestyle which is first and foremost the focus here on 30BaD.

regarding sex

For spammers, scammers, and other slammers, there is total membership deletion, and such acts will not be tolerated.

This protects not only forum members from hurting each other, but protects the overall website from legal implications, and reserves the right for the website team to remove the offending material and or individual if need be.

We ask that members please keep to the classic right speech rule and ask themselves before posting, "is it kind, is it true, is it helpful".

Thanks so much for helping this be a community that reaches many audiences.

30BaD FADs: Cyber Safety

The 30BaD team only has the best intentions in the service of this community, and would like to see all thrive and not just survive, and to then take this message to the ends of the earth and change the world.

All of our thanks goes to Freelee and Durianrider for paying the bills and keeping the lights on for us, and for the peacekeepers hours of hard work behind the scenes to keep this a well oiled machine: priceless

We hope that in return, members will recognize our good intentions, and cooperate respectfully with us and with each other.

There is no strength in numbers, rather strength in unity, and we look forward to many future years of cooperation, love, and peace.

For those of us who have been given second chances at health and life, perhaps it is time to pay it forward, and 30BaD is the perfect platform to do so.

does democracy really means you can say whatever you wish? why are there laws against discrimination, then? i don't know how this works in other countries, but here in brazil one can get arrested if he discriminates someone based on gender or skin color, for example. would you say we are less of a democracy because of this?

---

you say: 'a democracy is one's right to voice their opinion openly'. i think i can agree with that. i believe i feel the same way. but the fact that one has the right to voice his opinion openly does not mean he should be allowed to do it in no matter what way. furthermore, i think one only has the right to voice his opinions openly provided they are sufficiently general.

---

for instance, suppose someone believed that people with light skin were superior to people with dark skin; he should be allowed to say: "In my personal opinion, there exists a superiority of people with light skin over people with dark skin" but he should not be allowed to tell someone that he was inferior to others because of the collor of his skin.

---

but still then, should he be allowed to say this no matter where? would it be wrong if he were at the house of someone who had dark skin and got expelled because he said such a thing, even if in a general and abstract way? i think it can still be offensive even if put that way.

---

in the same way, if someone started saying that non-human animals are inferior to us and so we have the right to kill them, would it be wrong to take the necessary measures to keep this person away from us? i think that is how a democracy works. if you are within a certain place, then you must abide to certain rules that hold only within that place, and which are essential to the proper working of that place. inflicting those rules would mean disrupting the harmony and balance of that specific part of the universe.

so here in 30bad we are a community of people who are devoted to live in a particular way, which we believe is the way we are naturally intended to live. we have several beliefs, which include the notion that non-human animals are in no way inferior, from an ethical point of view, to humans, and so deserve equal ethical consideration; it also include the notion that a diet based on fruits with lots of greens and a few nuts, all raw and low-fat vegan is, as far as we know, the best suited to human beings; and that there is a lifestyle that, if followed correctly, will, as far as we know, produce the best known levels of health for humans.

we, as members, believe in all this. of course, not every member has to share all those beliefs. you don't have to follow a particular lifestyle or have particular beliefs in order to be a member. but if you are here, then it is because you

(1) wish to find support to follow or continue following the lfrv lifestyle; or

(2) wish to provide help and support to others who are commited to following this lifestyle; or

(3) simply wish to learn more about the lfrv lifestyle, veganism, high-carb vegan diets and related stuff; or

(4) wish to connect with people who follow the hcrv or hccv lifestyle or who are vegans / animal rights activists / etc.

if you do not want any of the above, then you will not find much to do here and so this is most probably not the place for you... in particular, this is not the place for people who:

(1) want to bash or question the lfrv lifestyle;

(2) want to bash or question veganism;

(3) want to convince vegans / high-carb vegans / raw high-carb vegans that they are not following the right lifestyle / that their ideas are wrong / that they should change their minds / adopt a different lifestyle;

(4) want to release their anger for being so unhappy, unhealthy and unsuccesful in life by insulting those who have attained unspeakable levels of happiness, health and success simply by following the correct lifestyle.

if your desire is to do some of the things above, then there are other places in the internet for you, but unfortunately 30bad is not your place.

---

people say: "i got banned from 30bad" as though it meant something like: "they killed my wife and children" or at least: "they broke my arm". it doesn't. it simply means it was no longer possible to preserve the high-vibe and harmony of this wonderful community while you remained a member of it, and so unfortunately, despite the best wishes of all of us, it was necessary to take measures to keep you away from it.

this is how it works in a democracy. you are allowed to do and say whatever you wish, but only in the appropriate place. so, if you cannot live within the rules of a certain community, then you must stay away from that community; if you cannot live in a way that is considered acceptable by society, then you must live in isolation from society, i.e. in prison.

you don't have to agree with everything that others say. you don't have to blindly follow orders, commands or directions. but you if you wish to stay close to certain people, you must behave in a way they do not find invasive, agressive, intolerable, offensive or disrespectful.

so to be here, you don't have to do whatever Freelee and Harley tell you to do; you don't have to agree with every single word "in the book". you may even say that you disagree with something Freelee, Harley, Doug, or anyone else has said, and point out why you disagree with it. but if you express disagreement without giving any evidence, arguments, or at the very least a personal reason for feeling that way, and what more, do it in an agressive and disrespectful tone, you are not likely to attract the attention of, let alone convince, any inteligent person. it is only right that such posts be deleted, as they add nothing valuable or informative to anyone and will only let people confused, disoriented and offended; often people who come from a difficult and opressive background and who, overwhelmed by the impressive mass of incorrect and misleading information we have around us, hope to find here a safe dock where their questions can be answered in a meaningful and respectful way.

---

i hope that this serves to cast away the very wrong idea that we are somehow a dictatorship here or that we impose unjustified restrictions on one's liberty. it is meaningless and nonsensic to think of 30bad as though it was an isolated part of the universe. if you don't like the way we work, you can simply go away. no one is holding or arresting you here and forbidding you to go away. if you are here, it is on your free and spontaneous will. and you are very welcome to live and think the way we do and reap the bennefits. if you do not think or wish to think this way, you are free to stay provided you don't try to convince us to change and does not bother if we try to convince you to live, think and behave as we do. if you don't want to be bothered with people who are trying to change the way you live because you are too coward to make a change for the better, or simply because you consider yourself omniscient and of course your way of living is the best, not ours, then you are free to leave and we won't bother you any longer.

---

please remember:

one's rights end when someone else's rights begin.

one's own liberties end when someon else's liberty begins.

@PK...I think it's great that you have posted this outline of all the thoughts that I'm sure many of us have had since coming here to 30bad...it is a comfort to know these legitimate concerns are being addressed. I'm sure so many of us roll these questions around in our minds. Thanks again for clearing up some of the confusion and giving pause to a much needed conversation.

Comment by Msdiane Whitedove on June 9, 2012 at 2:10am

Last I heard a demorcracy was ones right to voice their opinion openly. It doesn't mean anyone had to agree with what that individual had to say but rather the individual still has a right to say it. Even though I appreciate the message 30bad has to share, they do come off more like a dictatorship. And I quickly learned if I wanted to stick around here for any of the beneficial message 30bad has to offer, I'd better watch what I say.  So I do watch what I say now, and I am careful not to offend any of the 30bad members.

@FaN,

The nail that sticks out...

This can refer to someone living a different life that is outside the parameters and rules of their family, culture, and religion.  Those people they have symbolically left behind may feel offended and hurt.  Although the person embracing the new lifestyle may not be rejecting anyone personally, and only changing their ideology, the persons may still take personal offense.  Common responses may be anger, fights, and sabotage and trying to make the person look bad, incompetent, and or to pull them back into the old habits of the status quo.

***

Sometimes it is just plain jealousy.  For example, if some one is achieving weight loss goals, and family members are still fat, sick, and nearly dead, they may again do gossip, character defamation, slander, and other forms of sabotage to bring that person down.

I think the same is the case with gossip some people may encounter about 30BaD in other internet forums.

There may be some truly disgruntled individuals.  I get that.

But there are some jealous types who are just out to compete and pull 30BaD and its ideology down so that they might stay ahead in the game.

I suppose on a smaller scale, it works just like how many wars are started.  People want want other people have, and therefore, they will come and try to take that thing by any means necessary.

Peace, PK

It has been said that the nail that sticks out gets hammered down

I don't quite get what this means... perhaps you could explain me?

I am sorry if this is a silly question to ask.

Thank you.

PK, thank you so much for having posted this!! I love you so deeply!! I am so grateful for your hard and indefatigable work!!

I promise to read all of this carefully as soon as I have the time.

Those people are so poisonous! You have no idea how many people are observing our garden from atop the walls, ready to grab us and destroy us...

----

Give the fool a thousand wits and he will want but yours.  We being to plant the garden of our lives and when we look around we notice our neighbor is there, watching. He is incapable of doing anything, but likes to give advice on how to sow our actions, plant our thoughts and water our conquests.

If we pay attention to what he says, we will end up working for him, and the garden of our lives will have been the idea of our neighbor. We will end up forgetting the land cultivated with so much sweat, fertilized by so many blessings. We will forget that each centimeter of land has its mysteries that only the patient hand of a gardener is capable of deciphering. We will no longer pay attention to the sun, to the rain, to the seasons... We will be concentrated solely on that head which spies us from over the walls.

The fool who loves to give advice on our garden never takes care of his own plants.

----

I believe you are posting this in response to my questions, so I am very grateful to see that my voice has been heard.

Have a beautiful fruity day, my friend!

Love, Daniel <3
