Reasons for Tech Problems @30BaD
For the most part, 30 Bananas a Day is a smoothly running website in part thanks to the efficiency of our host platform Ning and in part because of the behind the scenes work of the Peacekeepers team. On occasion, things happen that may be beyond our control such as Ning being glitchy and or may be undergoing updates.
Common problems are slow navigation and or buttons that do not work when they are clicked on.
When problems are only being experienced by an individual, and are not site wide, the following solutions have been helpful. Some of these solutions may not only help people navigate 30BaD, but help in visiting other sites on the web as well.
Multiple Tabs Open
According to SPAMfighter blog:
Users can speed up their PC by closing multiple tabs in the internet browser with the help of simple techniques like, installing session manager, using bookmark bar etc.
Multiple tabs source PC as Tabs consumes and control memory; they capture memory in internet browser as well. It takes away cache memory from usual operations to save all the content of that webpage into memory and cause sluggish PC. Apart from sourcing, it sometimes hangs system for no good reason and consumes a huge memory space and CPU usage can reach up to 90% or more.
Alternatives to multiple tabs are making use of the bookmarks menu and come back to those pages when ready. When doing research, copy and pasting content, (site author's work of course) to a word document and then close the tab.
Restart Browser and or Computer
Yes, it works!
Clear History and Cookies Cache
Broken cookies can cause problems with navigation and slow downloading.
Many of our members have had better results using Firefox and or Google Chrome. Use Google to find the latest version for download.
Disconnect From Chat
Once in a while, a few of our members will have navigation slowed down by the chat box in the lower right hand corner. Disconnection seems to help. Disconnect by clicking on the cog wheel photo, and then click on the connect/disconnect option.
Occasionally, members may have problems with buttons not working or sending message. The above options may work. If those things do not work, then try the following:
Reset Page Custom Features
The page settings can be reset to default mode, and then changed back again.
