Today was the BEST day I have had so far. I had a family gathering to go to. I made fruit salad with an orange-mint dressing and zuke pasta w/ marinara. I figured I would be the only one eating it, but everyone LOVED it, esp the pasta dish. I took a polite helping and figured for my second round after everyone was served I'd finish it off. THERE WASN'T ANY LEFT. My family is so wonderful and accepting about everything. I mean it. EVERYTHING. In general we ARE very opinionated but also educated, so it makes for wonderful discussions about interesting topics.
I haven't seen my sis much over the last 3 years. We had a falling out and we've barely spoken. She brought her new husband who is transgendered (FTM) and their two children. It was the first time I met my nephew! My 92 year old grandpa and 83 yo grandmother have been devout catholics their whole lives fully embrance my sister's non-traditional family. I found out that my new BIL is a pretty awesome guy. I hope to spend more time with all of them in the near future.
Also, at the end of I decided to go for a walk. Dh ASKED to join me. In over 14 years of marriage he has NEVER asked to go for a walk with me!!! It was only the 3rd time I have walked in 2 years since I went back to school. We walked 4 miles. Not a crazy amount but it was it was an awesome end to The Best Day Ever!
My food was delish, my sis and I seem to be reconciling, and I got some exercise in too, even after a totally busy day. Life is good.
