Hi!
This is my first blog post on 30bad, and I was thinking I should introduce myself and also share with you my personal story. This might get pretty long..
I am a 23 year old young norwegian woman currently suffering from an ovarian cyst, a large intramural fibroid.. and possibly endometriosis as well. When I first found out I had a fibroid in december 2010, I started a long and jumpy road of tears, suffering and a lot of RESEARCH. This is what started me on my path of holistic medicine, in the search for natural treatments against my “ailments”, and also a cure for my "infertility issues".
The reason I started researching natural treatments and holistic medicine was because of the lack of information through medical science. It just didn’t answer all my questions, and it surely also lacked a “cure” that would keep my fertility intact. The medical solution would of course be a hysterectomy.. which isn’t applicable to me, as I want to have children in the future.
At first I thought that surgery would be my only treatment and during year 2011 I’ve been through two surgeries called UFE (Uterine Fibroid Embolization). If interested you can read more about it here: http://www.radiologyinfo.org/en/info.cfm?pg=ufe
The first procedure was not successful, and I am still waiting for results of number two. In the meantime I’ve been, as said before, researching natural treatments..
I have tried heaps of different herbal supplements some better than others, but none that worked entirely. My boyfriend and I have currently been trying to conceive (or at least not preventing conception) for about 1,5 years. Somehow I came across some youtube videoes of durianrider and freele and also this site. I purchased dr. grahams book a couple of months ago, and have been on and off the 811rv wagon since then. The transition has been a bit hard for me, dealing with terrible cravings, but I am determined to succeed being 100% 811rv.
I've already noticed a few changes that I will get back to.. But I thought I would inform you a little about my monthly menstrual struggles. Warning! This might be a bit tmi (too much information) for some of you.
Every time I have my period I bleed excessively. I will not even describe how much, but enough to get me feeling dizzy every month. Sometimes I am even scared to bleed to death! I know it is stupid to think like that, I have never heard of anyone dying from loss of blood caused by their period. But when I can’t even stand up straight due to dizziness and painful cramping, I naturally get scared. I am also a bit squeamish when it comes to the sight of blood, and I get extremely painful lower back pains the first couple of days of my period. As a consequence of the excessive bleeding I am experiencing, I also suffer from anemia.
I have experienced almost passing out once. I was living in Australia at that time, and as you probably know it can get really hot over there. A friend of mine and I were taking a walk during one of these hot days during the summer, and suddenly I felt my heart beat slowing, my vision blurring and suddenly I was lying on the ground. It only took a minute or so. People passing by was offering their help, and I was so embarrassed by the whole thing. Not a great experience! Anyway..
You could probably imagine how this might inhibit me in daily activities. Just getting out of bed in the morning might be a huge challenge for me, some days..
UNTIL NOW!
My last menstrual cycle has been heaven compared to what I am used to! And I am thinking it is because of my change in diet. (I have stopped taking all my herbal supplements, btw). This time it has been almost completely pain-free, and the bleeding has been a lot lighter. I have not experienced any feeling of faint or any symptoms of anemia what so ever. I am so excited and motivated to stick to this new lifestyle now. I am also hoping my periods will only get lighter, and that I will eventually get rid of that fibroid of mine.
If you have any experience regarding your monthly cycle, infertility and/or getting rid of fibroids on this lifestyle, please share them with me! It would sure be nice to get some support regarding these issues :)
Thank you for reading my post :)
