The often used saying "Failure to plan? Plan on failing," could sum up the last two days for me. Don't get me wrong. . .they weren't colossal failures. . .and when I think about it, it wasn't really a "failure" in so much as "a lesson learned."
Yesterday, I participated in a class that lasted eight hours total. We had lessons, a practical exam and a written test. You can't leave. You are alotted 30 minutes for lunch, and were warned ahead of time to pack your lunch if you're a…

However, I did get a HUGE box of bananas today at a ridiculously cheap price. Now I just have to wait for them to ripen.
Today was a little frustrating as far as hitting my macros. Right now, I'm only at 1086 cals and I feel like I can't eat another bite or drink another smoothie. And while I'm spot on with the 80% for my carbs, my protein and fat are seriously out of whack. My fat is at 15% and my protein is at 5%. . .and…

There are days when you are going to hear it from others; days when friends of yours say "Dr. Mercola says. . ." or days when your doctor says ". . .this sounds like an eating disorder rearing its ugly head." On days like that, please, take a few slow, deep breaths and close your eyes. Pay attention to your body. What does it feel like? Do you have that same sick feeling you did when you were overdosing on protein and getting "keto-rash" from losing weight too fast? Or do you have that same,…

I saw a discussion on one of the forum boards asking why people are counting their days. . .for me, I'm counting my days because I'm convinced that once I get to 30 days, the way I'm living and eating now will be a HABIT and something I do naturally. . . and not something I'm "trying to do." It might happen earlier than that, but 30 days seems to be the stickler!
Today was a pretty easy day. . .though it's not over yet. I'm going to need to add some more carbs by way of fruit…

Holy cow! I don't mean to be crass, but I don't think I've ever peed so much in one day in my entire life. I have pretty much peed my brains out today. Wow! Not a complaint, really. I'm just fascinated! I had no idea a human being could hold this much water or urine!
Today was a fantastic day for me. I still didn't reach my caloric goal, but I did get it way up there! I'm working on it! My percentages were much better today as well. Yesterday, I ended up around 90/5/5, so I…

I spent a lot of time today looking through the website (again), learning helpful hints and getting answers to questions that were bopping around in my brain. (Like the caloric intake question. . .great thread; great answers!)
Today, however, I was met with some unsavory challenges. The first was an overwhelming desire to eat something that I don't normally eat anyway. . .even when eating SAD. I was talking to a friend of mine while I was standing on the sidewalk and she was in her…

Well. . .considering how high I am off the excitement of the changes I'm making to my way of eating, it's not surprising that today, I attacked 811 with a joy and ferocity usually reserved for chocolate bars, one upon a time. Ha ha ha!
ROADBLOCKS/SPEED-BUMPS: I did notice one problem right off the bat: I did not eat enough for breakfast. I ate three bananas and felt so massively full, that I stared at the remaining two like "Uh oh. . ." I was going to force myself to eat them, but I…

After spending much of the day yesterday reading my way through the FAQ's, the message boards and all of the other wonderful resources available on 30BAD, I'm really looking forwarding to doing this properly this time and making it a lifestyle, rather than a "diet." My first ventures into raw foods started off very well, with excellent results. However, the more information that became available to me, the more overwhelmed I became. I won't go into detail here, but I ended up trying to…
