So yesterday and today I have made my usual green smoothie in the morning, but it turned out really thick. It was thin when I poured it, but thickened up in the jar afterwards. The only difference I can think of is that my bananas were not quite as ripe as they usually are. They had spots on them, but still had a bit of green on the tip and the peel did not come off easily. Interesting! I learned something new! My hubby likes the thick smoothies, but not me. I prefer them…Continue
Well, I had a check up at my dentist today. Nothing but good news. :)
The hygienist asked if I was doing something different since last time I came in, I had a little bit of inflammation in some of my gums, but they look fine now.
They took X-Rays (not good for me, but they are digital, so less radiation, I think, and they gave me some homeopathic radiation drops) = no cavities. :)
The doc came in and said my teeth look marvelous. :)
I ate some baby bananas tonight! I can't get over how good they are! :) Yum!
Durian. Is. Disgusting! Ugh! I cannot believe some people think it tastes good! Oh my gosh! Vile!
I just recently discovered that I like salads without dressing! This makes me so happy! I have only found 1 or 2 raw vegan dressings that I actually liked, and of course they always had to be blended up, so that meant cleaning the blender afterwards (not a big deal, but still an extra step). So the last few days I have eaten my salad without any dressing. Just lots of cherry tomatoes, cucumber and shredded carrots. And I've discovered that I like salad better that way! :) Tonight's…Continue

I am excited that I hit the exact 80/10/10 ratio today! I don't know why I'm so excited... it was just fun to see it guess. :) I don't know if I've ever been able to hit 10% protein on raw foods only. I can usually only get about 5%.
I just had some routine blood work done. My white blood cell count is low - 3,000 when it should be at least 4,000. I've had this happen to me before - it has been as low as 2,000. I always feel fine, but it seems to scare the doctors to see it so low. Last time he checked my B12 and folate - I guess if those are low that can cause low WBC too. They were fine last time he checked. But maybe the serum test is not accurate as some say, and he should be doing the urine test? He wants to…Continue
I think I had a heart murmur in my late teens and in my 20's. I probably still have one, but as I understand it, they can come and go according to stress levels, nutrition, and drug use (caffeine, alcohol, etc.) I was never diagnosed with a heart murmur, but doctors have heard one from time to time. In my 20's I never enjoyed cardiovascular exercise because I would get out of breath after about 5 minutes and have to stop. I even had chest pains sometimes. Seriously, 5 minutes of jogging…Continue
So, I follow Gaiam on Facebook and today they had these recipes from this book Raw Food for Real People. Their introduction to the article says, "But in case the thought of “cooking” an entire raw meal still seems daunting, we’ve excerpted three easy recipes below for raw appetizers and desserts, just to get you started. Hilarious, I tell you! They have a recipe for Cashew Cheese, which…Continue
I'm doing it!! I'm eating pretty darn close to 100% hcrv! It is sooo much easier now because my tastebuds have changed/ are changing. I am still cooking for my husband and occasionally I'll have a little taste of what I have cooked for him - just to see if it tastes good, or whatever. I'm just talking about 1 little bite and that is it. So I made him some tofu bacon stuff to make tofu bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches. I had a little taste of the tofu bacon and it…Continue
Just wanted to post an update - doing Freelee's 30 day Banana Girl challenge again. Day 22 - feeling great! I'm able to eat more calories now. I feel like I'm improving in my yoga practice. My eyes are brighter and I feel that I have more muscle definition.
I'm so proud of myself. I ate 20 bananas today. :) (I've never done that before!)
Breakfast: 5 bananas
Mid Morning Snack: 5 bananas
Lunch: Smoothie of 10 bananas, 2 cups OJ and 6 oz. spinach
It did take me about 2 hours to eat this smoothie though! :)
Dinner: Last supper (cooked vegan food) - I'm going to do the 30 day challenge, starting tomorrow! Actually, I'm hoping to make it a 90 day challenge! And then a "for life" challenge!

I had my first dragonfruit today! Well, I have had it dried before, but today was the first time I had it fresh. Yummy! I saw on Cronometer that it has a bit more fat in it than most other fruits. I didn't know that. Very pretty and pink inside.
