Somethings Got to Give

Once upon a time I attempted a raw food diet to try to quell my horrific IBS.  It was a complete failure and I was more sick than when I was eating meat.  Safe to say I fell off the wagon relatively quickly and tried a paleo approach, to find the same results.  Sick sick sick.

I know there is no cure and no treatment for IBS.  No amount of Imodium helps my case. After 18 little green pills in one day I decided enough was enough and I couldn't imagine what I was doing to my…

Starting to slim!

I don't think my body is going to gain the initial weight from metabolic damage because I am already dropping the pounds. 4 pounds just fell off this week! Good riddance ;)

It's probably because I wasn't restricting myself before, no drugs or stimulants. I was just feasting away on all the bad things. Everyone's body is different so I am by no means judging anyone if they are going through the healing phase. We are all in this together right? :)

Well that's the news I… Continue

Deteriorating Skin Problems

I never had any bigger problems with my skin, sometime I had a pimple now and then when I was younger, but since I started this raw till 4 couple of weeks ago, my skin has gone so bad.. Really, my face went so wild and it stresses me out a lot. Freelee talked about her amazing acne improvement when she went raw in one of her videos, so I dont know if its normal or not.. Any particular foods to avoid or some recommended remedies?

In any case, happy easter everyone! :) K.

My Blog (3) - 30 Bananas a Day Achieved!

Never in 78 years have I been able to manage more than about 6 bananas a day without revulsion.

This summer, here in South Africa, I have been on a roll once again. By accident and experiment, I have now reached a point where bananas have changed from being my least favourite fruit, to being my favourite and most esteemed fruit.

Long ago I did a 33-day grape island, but experienced no gains.

A few weeks ago I did a 6-day banana island, with fantastic results. Life…

HCRV Cupcakes Recipe

These super sweet raw hcrv cupcakes will make your mouth water for sure.

After sifting through the internet for a good raw vegan cupcake recipe, to no surprise, I was pretty let down once again.

It pains me every time I look for raw recipes, as the amount of unhealthy ingredients, or combinations of ingredients, simply baffles me. Almost all of them mix oil & other fats with dates, which does make me worry for people’s blood sugar…

Banana Island day 5.. dealing with stress

So yesterday I did not write a blog post but I really wanted to... I started my 24 hour water fast after lunch Tuesday and ended up eating bananas again at 12:30 pm, yesterday afternoon. I had all these wonderful things to say about the fast, it was a really great experience! My bananas also had a little more time to ripen, so it all worked out.

I've posted before that I am a recovering addict/alcoholic. I've be sober sense aug 24th, 2012... In the past year and a half I've been going…

Banana Island day 4 +++ water fast

Yesterday was CRAZY busy for me. I worked three of my jobs back to back. My alarm did not go off and I missed my big, banana smoothie breakfast! I munched on bananas through work, but only got 5 in because I was so busy. I had about 45 min for lunch in-between job locations so i did get one smoothie in (about 10 naners).. by the time I got to my second job I realized I forgot to pack my bag!! Only three bananas! I work at Whole Foods but they had no ripe bananas for sale! I ended up wrapping…

Sacred vessel

Oh my goodness, it took me almost 32 years to realize that my body is a sacred vessel which mustn't be stuffed with different junk. I am calmly glad that I am now on the right way. My legs are easily carrying me themselves when I go, I try hard to catch their motion. I am filled with energy and positiveness. Eating raw vegan food is a misterious secret and a simple miracle at the same time, affordable to anyone. If you realize it once, you won't be able to delude yourself by degradating to a…

A change from the truth..

Hi guys, just wanted too post a little about myself ;)!!

My lifestyle was junk food, smoking and drinking.. My parents never knew the harm of meat and chemically procest snacks!

At the age of 13 I started suffering with acne, doctors would subscribe me pills too sort my hormones out. I even opted too have too have two chemical peels!! Surprisingly non of these actually worked! I purchased a book at the age of 15 called 'acne no more' which taught me a lot about a raw… Continue

My start: 2nd month of raw vegan eating

Just to point out some facts to be able to remember how it all started)):

- I didn't expect to change to raw eating so easy. The first week was the hardest, psycologically. But then - only pleasure and enjoyment:) It is my second 'try' and the first time I was on raw only for 2 weeks, that was 3 years ago. Then I wasn't in the right frame of mind to continue. Even after many years of being vegetarian. So I am more than happy that now I am on the right way absolutely…

Savoury Taco Recipe

Savoury Raw Tacos are one food that I’ve always wanted.

Tacos are simply amazing, but most recipes of raw taco recipes are a huge let down.

They are all either extremely high in fat, salt, and oil, or they just have little to no flavour! Now I love eating healthy food, but if it doesn’t taste great, it just isn’t worth the time and effort.

Making raw tacos that love you as much as you love them may sound like quite the…

health is true wealth

I am feeling so much gratitude to my body.  It is healing everyday.  I just am amazed at the bodies ability to heal itself.  I have been on this journey for 2 years.  My health was horrible and I was at an all time low.  I often become so emotional thinking about where I started.  It was the lowest point of my life.

I am working extremely hard. I am now doing kickboxing and strength training 6 days a week.  I also enjoy barre classes a few days a week.  I really enjoy…
