Weight gain...so discouraging
Going through some really difficult weight gain. I'm at a weight I haven't reached in such a long time and it's devastating. This isn't water weight, this is fat. I can tell the difference and FEEL the difference, especially in my clothing.
I'm really considering putting raw food on a hold. Apparently it doesn't work for me at all. And when I say raw food, I don't even take medicine if I have a headache or use imitation vanilla flavoring to avoid alcohol. I've gained 20 pounds on raw…

The BLOAT
Seriously, nothing is worse than walking around with this 8-month pregnancy look. I've actually come up with a number I'm going to tell people when they ask "So how far along are you?" *points at my tummy*
The bloating is a combination of introducing my body to purely raw foods, and well, bulimia bloat. My body was STARVING and I was injuring myself immensely. So all the toxins, all the abuse, has taken its hold and I've got one heck of a melon…

Does anyone still use forks?
One thing I LOVE about this lifestyle....NO forks or spoons. Ever. Only the occasionally chopsticks when you feel like gettin' fancy. ;)
I just love eating with my hands! :o Mangoes, grapes, bananas, apples, strawberries, pineapple! I even eat my salad with my hands if no one's looking! xD
Fruit is the PERFECT finger food. Is it just me, or do other people hate silverware too?
Eating with silverware makes eating seem boring to me. I want to pick it…

Day 10
For those that don't know I was raw vegan, cooked vegan of vegetarian most of my adult lie (now in my 40's) but the last yr because of a series of events, 2 celiacs diagnosed in my immediate family (son and hubby) we all went paleo. That was hard. I really started getting into it but...well...I'll skip the story but, I love my veggie roots.
This is day 10 of 8-1-1, and increasing raw that started around 75% and am now about 95%. Workouts have been better. More endurance and…

Back on the wagon, 7 days 100%
Something clicked in me last week, that I was fighting all of these bad habits: late nights, cooked vegan asian food, negative self talk. I was resisting all of them very hard. After some emotional things happened I was able to accept it all and let it go. This week it's been so much easier than usual to stay all raw. I had a couple of cravings, but no kinds of major "OMG I GOTTA HAVE VIETNAMESE FOODZ NAOW!!" type cravings.
I've been eating a lot of fruit during the day…

The "Ecstasy" of Raw Veganism
So a friend posted something about parents being watchful of their kids getting involved with "Molly" (MDMA, ecstasy) and I seemed to remember something about taking a lot of it causing depression so I looked it up and found these effects:
<SNIP>
Short-term experiential effects, which tend to last less than 4 hours, include:

Restructuring my Diet
I suffer from a really bad case of hypothyroidism and I've been struggling on this lifestyle for months. I haven't been struggling in the sense that I have a hard time eating so much fruit---I love it actually. For the most part I feel good but I can tell that my thyroid is barely functioning and my weight gain (despite increasing fitness activity every day for four months) has been steady. So after doing a bit of research into western and eastern medicine and discussing with my…

Fruitarian Medical Doctor
Dear Tutti Fruttis,
I would love to know what you think about this:
After much deliberation, I have decided to embark on a new adventure.
In Panama, and most other countries, it seems to me that a majority of people are hesitant to accept health advice coming from non-medical doctors. People who do listen to natural health coaches and 'gurus' are people who have heard about these topics and are curious—perhaps a fringe…

An Ancient Command: Fuel Up!
Working on a project that's led me to delve through ancient writings from around the world, and came across this one. Thought some of you would get a kick out of it.
This is from the Chandogya Upanishad, of the ancient Vedic tradition of India. The Upanishads and Vedas are widely considered to be among the most ancient writings known. The ideas here are given within the context of Vedic teachings, and many terms are largely symbolic, but they illustrate a very important…
