how it went?

I set some rock-climbing goals for this year but "unfortunately" (after the first trip) it seems i set the bar too low.

Here they are

1)On-sight 6c+

2)Red point 7c

3)Manage one-armed deadhang on my rung at home

Well during the 3 weeks trip to Turkey i was consistently onsighting 7a,7a+ and even did 7b - which is totally incredible jump from last year. It seems that a couple months training throughout the winter helped a lot. In addition to that i did one 7b+ 2nd… Continue

Day 8, faultered but didn't completely derail. And Nutridiary question.

So around 2:30 or so today I felt myself going into ravenous binge mode. As in, eat anything, especially cooked, that's around. Ok, not ANYTHING, I wouldn't go eat a ribeye, but you know what I mean. Anyway, I think it was triggered by the smell of the lentil soup my boyfriend was heating up that he made last night. He also sautéed garlic to add to it so the house was filled with the smell of really garlicky lentil soup. I was caloried up on juicy fruit so it wasn't a consequence of too little… Continue

Woohoo!!! I am a member!!

Today I added veggies to my fishies diet. That's right.....I mean to make the entire planet eat more veggies, including the ones in the sea. Selfish really....if I can distract a fierce shark with a carrot maybe I can swim for it! lol

I had no idea that fish loved sweet peas sooooooo much! They actually fought over them and attacked each other to keep control of the peeled sweet peas! It was fun to watch. I video taped a little bit of it but missed the best parts. I will post the vid… Continue

Day 7--Decided to weigh in...finally

So today I decided to weigh myself. I hadn't weighed in a few weeks after going off on salty cooked food and didn't want to b/c I knew it wouldn't be very good. I decided on a whim to weigh myself this morning since I've been doing this for 1 week solid. It wasn't too horrible...

Starting weight: 125.5 lbs

FOOD:

- 86 oz grapes

- 1 large cucumber

- 30 oz. bananas

- 6 oz. dates

Tuesday, February 16, 2010....Day 31

Day 31 of the Fruit fast. i ate a third meal today. i wanted to see if i could get along with two, but after an intense workout this evening i was really hungry. The problem was, i ate at 11pm; not good. Even if it is all fruit i want to practice being temperate in all things. So i think i will have a third meal when i think i need one, especially as my fruit-driven energy makes my workouts more intense. As i have seen in other long term fruitarians, eventually i expect to need to eat less…

TOO FAR FROM SUN

Having only discovered this great lifestyle a couple of weeks ago, i am reaping benefits already - losing water weight and some fat (i hope!), feeling calm and clear-headed and feeling CLEAN!

But, i am finding that living in the northern hemisphere is going to be a big problem. I love bananas, but getting them to ripen in this cold climate is difficult; actually, most of the fruit i buy doesn't taste like i would expect - i am undereating and at the moment its OK because i still need… Continue

What I am learning from the 811 book by Dr. Graham

I went to Nutridiary.com yesterday and started putting in some of the foods for the days I have kept a food diary. I was amazed how little I am sometimes eating. I had a huge salad and fruit three times but ended up with a total of 800 calories. I thought I had eaten a lot, and found I didn't at all. I did really good on my fats though, I tried blending celery and tomatoes and oranges and that was so good I ate about half before I put it on the salad.

Today I only ate a small…

Day 6, another opportunity to test my will power!

Walked around downtown today watching mardi gras parades and some friends' band at a friend's bike shop. On the way home my boyfriend decided to stop at a Middle Eastern restaurant and get some falafels and baba ganoush! Ooh la la. One of my favorites. But it was really very easy to resist. I almost didn't have to use much will power. I just busted out my oranges from my back pack and was happy as a lark.

For me, resisting these temptations is a MAJOR breakthrough. In the past when I… Continue

Boy requests me to play elvis

So on Saturday a lad stood 3 floors high on the shopping center ledge and requested me to play elvis. One slip and he'd fall to a hard landing! He'd be following the curve in spacetime caused by his mass and the earth! Think he wanted to enter the BBC "be a scientist" competition.

Monday, February 15, 2010......Day 30

Day 30 of the Fruit Fast. Still no salt cravings at all. Is this permanent? Maybe so. With my new freedom the possibility of this Fruit Fast becoming a permanent Fruit Lifestyle becomes more of a reality.

But i may be getting ahead of myself. Indeed, this particular Fruit

Fast is just beginning. Even with the salt cravings i wanted it to last

at least a couple of months. If i am truly freed from salt (as i

strongly perceive that this is the case), then i should continue…

Yum Om Num Doritos!!!

So....Right? I know what you're thinking didn't this girl just say she was heading to Banana Island? Looks like we've got another one who fell off the wagon(doritos gawd).
Well, I underestimated how many bananas it would take and the impending snow storm causing a shortage of bananas so I'm sitting here staring at 3bunches of bright green bananas, heartbroken...I loved banana island; life was so simple there. In two days my system was getting cleaned out, there was no hassle/fuss mealtimes,…

*Inspired*

To keep making choices that go outwards and bless others. I am inspired to do that! That place in which you always find that you have more!

It was interesting in class today how my professor noted that it's better to hire an optimist to make phone calls to advertise a business, as the success rate will be much higher, but for professions like dentists and doctors it's better to have a pessimist who is more realistic. We also went over attitudes and what's important to people in… Continue

Beautiful art

Just wanted to upload my guy friend's wonderful artwork.

Inside that heart box is a quartz rock with a big smiley grinning face drawn on (joked about days before). Very cute!

He made a beautiful fruit presentation with a pineapple for a base!

He drew a picture of a durian flower...…

Sabbath, February 13, 2010......Day 28

Day 28 of the Fruit Fast. We are spirituality blessed in that every week we have very rich and very sweet fellowship with our brethren. But this Sabbath was even alittle more. The reason was i had this joy

inside me for the knowledge that the Lord may have finally freed me

from my salt addiction. i mean i know it seems like i am going on and

on about it. My apologies for that, but please bear with me. It was to

the point where i thought 'well, maybe my body just needs it…

Oral Hygiene... how I saved my teeth and gums from the abyss :D

For the past 10 years prior to 811, I have been brushing & flossing twice a day. Now that I am 811, I have increased this to 3 - 4x per day. Proper flossing is as *critical* for good oral hygiene as is proper brushing. How do i know this? My dentist has not had to clean my teeth in the past 9 years and I now only go this him for… Continue
