Got of work early today so I got to spend 3 hours soaking up the sun at the beach and I must say wow!!! What a difference I am feeling right now. Normally I feel tired after going to the beach for such a long time but I feel so energetic. I'm starting to understand this whole 'lifestyle' thing ;).
I thought this diet was boring???… Continue

I'm soooo PROUD of myself! I successfully grew my first tomatoes right here on my patio. Pretty much organic too from seeds. YUMMY! I'm so excited, you have no idea. I created life. :-D

As some of you already know, I've been working out the bugs in my program to stay 100% 811 indefinitely. I've looked at all kinds of advice given here, tried most of it, and abandoned some of it.
People say if you're hungry, you're not eating enough fruit. It is possible to be physiologically full and still hungry. No, it's not emotional. In the case of the sugar sensitive (I'm borderline to being borderline diabetic), it's possible to activate the mechanism that causes the brain to… Continue

Was thinking about doing a bike ride alllll day so I went out for 50 mins after work. The gearing on my bike is really s***ty and I can go on the hardest gear for an hour straight and not really feel that tired. The only thing that is tough is riding in to the wind or going up hill. Going to go for longer rides this weekend.
Noticing a bit of a breakout on my chest and forehead. Guessing this is normal so we'll see what… Continue

Well today I started out with coffee to begin my, what is supposed to be, 8 hour work day. Then I had watermelon and than a papaya. I was full and happy at this time.
Then I found out I would be doing another 8 hours of overtime lol.......
I ended up eating the free dinner I get from my work place. and then eating a little more later.......
Well at least the part of the day I planned went ok :)
I am bringing… Continue

This will be a quickie since I am at work...
Yesterday evening I was walking with one of the doggies up beyond the sheep field into the deciduous forest and I had to stop from the sheer beauty. I stood between two rows (these trees were man-planted) and saw that for some reason the whole row didn't have any branches on one side. I moved closer to one tree. I looked at its bark. Pock marks, split marks, scars, hardened knobs from insects...and what I saw was beauty. It was a thing of beauty.… Continue

So today I ended up eating 3400 calories! That is the good part. From there it mostly goes downhill...I ate my last meal late and it was a large one. Never good for me as I end up having a lot of trouble sleeping and I feel sick and bloated and hate it. The second more negative aspect was that I had no fresh fruit in the house that was ripe enough for eating. I had eaten 2300 calories and then went for a 7 or so mile (that's just a "guesstimate") jog. After the jog I drank water and then it was… Continue

Well, I did something I am kind of proud of so I am doing a blog on it! :)
So today I had the dreaded coffee.....still on my little bit a day thing.....
1 watermelon (~ 1000 calories)
plain spaggettii noodles with some spices
Now I am going to guess this is around 2000 calories.
45 pushups (slow methodical)
10 push ups with feet… Continue

Nice long day of work in the heat and sun :P Made sure to keep well hydrated.
Napped for a good 1.5hrs after work then went out for a 1hr bike ride. It was going so well that I just kept going further and further. I would come to an intersection where I would turn to go home but I just kept going.
Feeling great and the bananas are going down well. I've noticed that also my face is beginning to clear a bit. Mainly there… Continue

The other week I decided I'd swim across the Okanagan Lake. The distance was supposed to only 4km but because of a young group of kids (my cousins) in a canoe and kayak which I followed, it ended up being 5+km. I did the swim with a scruffy mustache, a belly full of nectarines, and a determined mindset.
I told my cousins the epic journey across the lake would take "about an hour" despite the slight current and waves which stirred the surface. Little did I know that it… Continue

Oh if only every flight, no matter how many kilometers, could be 45 minutes long. Proper planning prevents poor judgment, some say. I had no concrete plans other than to find a cheap hostel for the night. After finding my way out of the airport I followed the signs leading to the taxi line. The line stretched around the corner and down the stairs. Great. Being the silly foreigner I am I just walked around looking hopeless. I was approached by a man asking, "Do you need a taxi?" "Yes", I… Continue

I can say with almost complete certainty that I will return to Davao in the near future. I woke up this morning to the sound of Sir Bob (the HRM teacher) locking himself in the restroom of our shared cottage. It was around 05.30 and we still had a chance to catch the sunrise, and I wanted to feel the warmth of Davao Gulf's waters once more. After fully waking up I went to the dock to inquire about the ferry schedule of boats departing back to Davao. 06.15 was my first chance and I wanted to… Continue

Gaining belly fat on 811. My legs are still leaning up though.
I'm NOT eating as much as I want, although I am more satiated at meals than I have following any other diets.
Here are what my last four weeks look like:
The last two weeks I've averaged 4,600 calories. I exercise about 1-2 hours a day usually. Bulk of the…

Leaving DAvao City PHilippines has been challenging. The durian season was building sooo strong...piles everywhere, and the price was dropping approaching 50cents/pound. Even though you can buy durian fresh all year long there, the strong seasons are more special. The durian culture is sooo profound, most everyone can afford it and appreciate it.
Hanging out with Dr. Robert Lockhart, my amazing, inspiring, fun friend was perfect. He is 66 years young and a committed fruitarian fro 30… Continue

“ a tiger taken from it’s natural surrounding is no longer a tiger in
the fullest sense of the word. The external, material appearance of the tiger
may be the same, but the inner substance of what should be a noble free
creature with sharp hunting instincts – this inner substance is lost. A “tiger”
grown up in a zoo will not even be able to survive in the wilds. The inner… Continue
