There and Back Again
After getting 2 weeks into LFRV and seeing the weight drop off and feeling good, I had a gig yesterday (backing up a band I din't even want to) was in a rush, forgot the fruit, and ended up getting sucked into pizza backstage. Even though I was in touch w/ folks on the forum immediately, I still went out that night and binged on even more cr*p food anyways. Yikes. But you know what? I'm kinda glad it happened. If I had JUST eaten the pizza I'd be out of it, but basically ok...but this way I…

Back in Denver
Hi everyone,
Just posted a video update. Last night I got back to Denver after spending the week with family in DC. I was super anxious about the trip because my mother is a gourmet cook ( she has been a food writer and owns about 200 cookbooks). She expresses much love in food and I didn't want to hurt her feelings. As it turned out--the folks were awesome!!! I think it helped that I emailed them prior to the visit and explained that my main goal was health through an optimal diet.…

Goals for 2012 and reflection on life
http://fruity-vegan.blogspot.com/2011/12/goals-for-2012-and-reflection-on-life.html
Many things have changed in the last year for me; changed my diet from a standard diet with animal products to being a vegan, educated (still do) myself about raw veganism, graduated from high school, left home for a new city and moved in by myself, let go…

Tim Van Orden - questions
Tim Van Orden...? well, what is to say about him?
these days people discuss a lot of things about him. I ve always thought he was a very intelligent guy, not just "gym&fitness" :) when I was watching his vids on youtube I ve noticed that he provides more info on nutrients and physiology as anyone else.
and now when he is struggling with depression and some other things I've thought "what is going on with this guy?" and I've clicked on his today's video on fb page.…

Getting Over Myself
I really need to. So I started yesterday.
First stop! Hair cut. I think I'm done seeing the world through a curtain. I'm not so scared anymore of eye contact. Especially with my friends, who I was with yesterday. I guess I'll be changing my profile pic as soon as I get back from Tahoe in a few days. ;)
Second, take than dang jacket off. No more hiding. Honestly- why am I hiding from myself? I certainly know how I look, and if any one else's about me mattered, they have…

Reading 80-10-10
My current plan is to start this diet mid-January. My only reasons for waiting are these:
1) I need to make my January rent first before I can go grocery shopping at all!! =(
2) I want to finish off the last of the cooked food I have in my apartment.
3) I want to finish reading 80-10-10!!
4) I am currently in a show that closes on January 8th and I feel like after that is over I will have a better frame of mind in which to reassess my life and…

Bringing food to work/blender?
Do any of you guys bring your blender to work? I think this will help eat more volume of fruit in a shorter period of time. Im addicted to eating out when I am at work since its easy to cave into it if everyone else is doing it.

What does it mean to trust?
I trust him totally. She is very trustworthy.
We hear this all of the time. What does trusting someone really mean?
When we say we trust someone, what we are saying is that based on our observations and instincts, that person is more likely than not to perform a given behavior. …

My past
I thought today was the best time to discuss my past.
I ate meat from an early age, always been picky (nothing must look like the animal, chicken breast, no skin or bone) until I was eating a beefburger in my local college when I was 19, it didn't feel right. I felt really ill, so I went home.
I felt sick, so I went to get a drink of water and then I was violently sick, I couldn't stop myself! I spent the next 3 days in bed and then the doctor arrived and I spent the next 3…

Taking it one day at a time: DAY 1 - 811/100%, Raw/75%, and Vegan/100%
I did it! I went vegan today. No animal products today and from here on out. I intended to eat 100% raw, but I was craving something cooked. I told myself that I would be allowed carb-rich cooked foods to get me through this beginning, so I had brown rice. Plus, it really helped up my calories, but I still only made it to 2160. Of my calories, I had 85% carbs, 10% fat, and 5% protein!…

My Journey Begins
Aloha Beautiful People :)
I feel the time has come to jump in, no more transition, no more comprimise, no more slipping, etc etc.. 100% Live, fresh, raw, organic, whole, natural...
I have been Fruitarian before when I was living in New Guinea, total Tropical Fruit Paradise, it was great. However now I live in what is called a Mediterainan Climate, or Warm Temperate, so the fruit is not so prolific…

Had a nightmare
Yesterday I came out to my friends (well, only for girls, so just half of them) about being raw vegan for a month and a half. They took it fine but of course had concerns about my health and well being but I answered all their questions successfully and they callmed down :) Actually it was better than I expected :) So I went home later that night and was dreaming that I met my ex-boyfriend and he brought us some food (like he used to) and it was buns so I took one but wasn't…

Raw Food Changed My World!
A year ago now, I was obsessed with fasting, eating 500 cals a day, had extreme social anxiety (which was getting worse, I was afraid to look people in the eyes! Hence the hair cut). I was depressed, wanted life to be over, and was doing a lot of drugs (my brother used to be a HUGE drug dealer before we moved from the state vermont. He's not legally allowed to be back there again.), mostly weed and ecstasy, and didn't have any real friends, but one that was 2 towns…

kind of a light bulb moment
This past week has been really difficult for me. I've been caving in to all kinds of junky foods. I usually have a little more difficult time on weekends, but this has been a whole week of craziness for me with my anniversary, Christmas, etc. Then it hit me this morning....weekends are when my husband is home all day. He's a SAD eater but is trying to be supportive of me as much as he can. But I think what is happening is that I am getting extra tempted by all the smells and foods that…

Kwanzaa , Solidarity!

Veganism debunked
Here's a vid I just made, showing some very 'rational and persuasive' arguments for not being vegan. Oh yeah, along with some footage from slaughterhouses.
I think meat and dairy eaters need to see this stuff, so many of them live in a cosy fairytale world where their meat, milk and eggs just magically appears and they never get blood on their hands. I plan on making many more videos like this cause I think a person reconnected with the reality of the situation will at very…
