making the leap from 80 to 100!

worked by way up to 80% raw and finally after years of stress munching on crunchy snacks, like crackers and popcorn, i've stopped craving them! miraculous!

going 100% LFRV starting tomorrow- fridge is super well-stocked (my grocery bags have been so heavy but so colorful :D), and i am pumped!

also, watched the documentary 'food matters' earlier today, and it was great! lots of raw food talk, which made me smile. have a great halloween night everyone!

whole foods in chicagoland is losing it's fruity goodness...

I have the inspiration to blog for the first time because i am sooooo sad that whole foods hasn't had organic bananas in stock for 2 weeks now. I guess this is just the beginning of the end (of summer and warm weather). I was also going to pick up figs that they have had in stock for a while but I haven't tried yet. Those were gone also. grrrrr.

Well, this should be a clear sign that I have to force myself to get on the phone and call some organic food suppliers to get the "goods" to… Continue

Deception In The Raw Food Industry

Some prominent raw food chefs, gurus and teachers are falling out of ranks and are making it seem as if it can be “healthier” to add some cooked food back to a raw food diet. But when examining their evidence it shows them adding only about a ten percent addition of cooked food to the diet to get this “extra nutrition”, which they claim is necessary for extra caloric value. They can’t get…

Two Activists Are Better Than One

Hey all,

Here's my next post from www.coveguardian.blogspot.com. I've embarked on a mission to raise enough funds for my partner, Ryan to travel with me. I will be selling artwork left over from An Evening For The Dolphins held last night. I have four pieces valued at $25, $125, $500, and $1800. Please let me know if any of you are interested, I will post pictures of the art soon!

My One Blog Post My Last?

I'm not sure I can do this diet. I say this with a heavy heart but still with a chance to compromise.

The first half of the first day even towards mid afternoon was fantastic. Bananas and dates only. Dinner, was difficult. But I thought another day was in order which I did accomplish by the way. However there were times that my body wanted

to throw up I felt so nauseous. This worries…

Day 2! :D

Yay! Day 2, totally raw, totally awesome and kewl.

I got up to about 1750 calories today, which is pretty good for me. I think dates and bananas are the key for me. I used to hate ripe bananas. Believe it or not, I only liked them unripe, with a little green and everything. But now I've got a bowl of pretty brown-and-yellow bananas on the counter and I love them. My mom had one and said it was the best banana she ever had, and she hates…

More Grapes!

LOVING the black grapes, and bought about 5-6 pounds of them today! mmmmm! They are SO much better than white or red grapes, in my opinion! SO juicy and SWEET!!!!!!

I am pretty amazed that I lost 5 pounds this week, from Tues till when I weighed myself this morning! WOW! Will prob have some cooked vegan food in the next few days. BUT: I am working on incorportating 3-5 days of LFRV per week, and trying to phase out cooked vegan or gourmet raw over time. This is all a process…

Going to a detox-retreat!!!

I've been thinking about this too much to not actually do it..

I was on the waiting list for a week-long juice-fast retreat and just got a phone call saying there is a space available. I was given half an hour to think it over and I called back to book and pay! It is such a large sum of money…

Grapes!

I am totally loving black grapes for breakfast! So sweet and juicy! I had a pound for breakfast today but will try to increase that to 1.5 pounds next time.

Then, I brought a huge smoothie to work with me today: 3 bananas, 1 pound of mangoes, 1/2 pound pineapples. So good!

I had a wave of cooked vegan food this past weekend, including: vegan pizza, everything at a vegan potluck (I brought raw apple cookies), and cooked Indian food another night.

I…

Good lord I need to count calories!

Man this sucks! When I don't count calories, I under-eat! No wonder I craved (and ate) cooked potato today, I only had about 700-1000 calories for breakfast and lunch combined!

Hate counting calories because it reminds me of my ED days =( and I still get a little scared feeling when the numbers go above 1500. But then I remember that I know better and I won't get fat eating fruit. I can be idiotic and under-eat and crash eventually, or I can be smart and carb myself…

Dumb decision >:(

Oh boy.

So I was having a pretty good day. I got about enough calories before 9 pm, then had 2 cooked sweet potatoes to sneak in the last 200 calories. I even made a little pineapple salsa to put in romaine leaves - it was very good. :D I got my whole 3 liters of water, so I was pretty satisfied.

So there I was, sitting downstairs and remembering that there's pickles in the fridge. Do I normally crave pickles? Nah, not really. But I'm sleeping…

Go nauseas from a bad thing, didnt eat enough calories, then binged on a bad thing lol

So I got up, drank water, felt good. Went and did my dead lifts and push ups, drank water, ate about a pound of grapes, drank water, then had coffee with just sugar in it.....bad mistake.

I got so nauseas that I thought I would throw up on the way to work, didnt feel like I wouldnt for 2 hours, although it slowly got better, then did not eat until 7 pm, had a pound of grapes, water of course throughout, then had a head of lettuce with 4 table spoons of seaseme seed and…

Green Smoothie Feast...

Starts tomorrow. I even took before pictures. I hope to go for 30 days, and if I want to I will continue until I feel that I have enough space between myself and cooked food. I am so tired of waiting for 80 10 10 to just happen for me, so I am going to try my best to make it happen for myself.

Woot!

Potatoes = fatigue!

Chain reaction!

Not enough fruit = cravings for cooked food = eating potatoes = FATIGUE!

Oh man I could go to sleep right now, and it's the middle of the afternoon.

There's the lesson.

Going to make a giant banana/spinach smoothie in a couple of hours when the potatoes have digested.
