I've got fruit for the weekend...and I'm ready for a month of 100% raw vegan!!!
Whether the trains stop running or there's stress with the ex, I'm reaching for fruit!
I'm excited to have an opportunity to set a positive example for my kids and to embrace optimal health and energy!

Ok, so, I got to thinking this morning...
I "failed" once again yesterday, but because I live almost alone when it comes to do things for the house and the well being of our relationship... So, we didn't have enough fruit at home. I was hungry and promised myself never to starve myself again. I ate cooked food, but always vegan, whole grain carbs, no fat, no…Continue
For the first time in my life, at 37 years of age, I had a Ha Ha!
moment about fruits and their life giving powers. I think it is the very first
time I also truly appreciate them for what they are.
I was suffering from high blood sugar (at the levels of a Type 2
Diabetic), often reading 150 mg/dl at morning fasting state and 200-300 mg/dl
after consuming dead foods and alcohol.
Anyway, I was curious to see how I am doing now on the HC…Continue

I woke up today feeling kinda bleh, and i realized my sinuses had gotten worse then yesterday. I have a clogged feeling, definitely a stuffed up nose. My migraine is there too, but im sure the stuffed up sinus pressure isnt helping that out. I got right up and dry skin brushed, then went down stairs to make my mango smoothie. I had a mango day today because of my poor premature nanner death (see day 26). I was lucky enough that the frozen mangos i bough didnt have anything in the…Continue

I can't believe I have made it this far! This is the easiest healthy diet/lifestyle by far. I spend no time in the kitchen and there is almost zero washing up - its the perfect 'lazy girl' diet. So where am I now. Well constantly improving seems to be the overall theme of this journey, just when I think things have slowed down I suddenly experience another quantum leap in my health/vitality/looks etc.
I the last 2 weeks (since my last blog in which I had joyfully got back…Continue
OK, so I'm in Los Angeles and I've been dying to try some Durian since I discovered 811. The problem is, that it is very hard to find. I was on track in Chinatown but I was out of luck, Then I found some at an Asian food market (where regular fruit is a total bargain!) but Durian was $8 a pound!!!! When I got to the cash register, it was $68 for just that Durian! I wanted to try it so bad but not $68 bad LOL!
So I went to visit my mom in NYC this past week and while walking…Continue
I couldn't understand why for the past week I was craving rice and pasta like crazy! I was getting a minimum of 2600 calories a day, and still desperately wanting anything starchy with tomatoe sauce. I found out I am 4 weeks pregnant yesterday and am beginning to suspect that is why the cravings were so strong, maybe I need to take in a lot more calories to prepare my body for pregnancy? The cool thing is that I will get to see how eating a fruit based diet makes me feel compared to how I…Continue
Hey Guys! Just wanted to let you know that I am going to be out of the office for the weekend! I am cooking on a yoga retreat!

I gave up all fast food many years ago except the one that still tempts me.
Okay, I know it's gross. I've looked at their nutrition facts and ingredient lists a ton of times. I know there's nasty stuff in there. But I just have a pretty serious fondess for their nacho cheese. It's also the cheapest, quickest restaurant with vegetarian options. Despite my clear understanding that it is a chemical ridden food-like substance rather than an actual…Continue
So from attempting to cut down on fruit flies, as soon as i brought home the new box of 100 bananas, my mom and I tried to do the tip that the guy at trader joes told me to try. We put all of those bananas in plastic gallon bags. For some reason i didnt make the connection that the same thing that happened when we werent letting air get to them by keeping the lid closed on the big tupperware container, might happen with the bags. The next day i went to take some out to eat and that same…Continue
Okay, so... I slipped up!
Yesterday AND today...
I had enough calories both days, but... I just couldn't get myself out the cooked food. :( Aaaand my anorexic/bulimic/EDNOS/ whatever mindset kept me in that "I-got-beaten-because-I'm-a-huge-failure" mode.
Luckily I ate low fat vegan carbs, and just a couple o' spoonfuls of it. Brown rice and wholemeal pasta with pure tomato sauce, no oils.
I hope I can get 100% ASAP.
It's comforting to know that there are…Continue

I have a question about couscous. If you let it merely sit in water for 20 minutes it actually will soak it up and be like cooked couscous, but not cooked. Is this still raw vegan?
