Now is the Moment

In this moment, I choose to change. Living in yesterday, or three hours ago is pointless. Living in past disappointments and apparent failures sets me back. But I choose to move forward. Enough is enough. In this moment, right now, I make choices for a better me. I am finished with beating myself up about not being completely raw. Many thanks for the comments on my last blog. So many valuable words! I am on a journey, and I should enjoy it. And to do this, I need to live in the… Continue

Raw Spirit Fest: Journey To

Last Monday (Sept. 20) I left from Salt Lake City, UT for the Raw Spirit Fest. I passed through Green River, UT known for their famous watermelons. Needless to say I spent a wad of $$$ on some grade A+ melons. Then spent two nights camping under a cliff outcropping in a red rock canyon (Moonflower Campground).

Moab is the desert in an epic sense. Feels very biblical there. That and every turn on a trail you expect to see Wiley Coyote chasing the Road Runner. Did some trail running in… Continue

Am I on the right track

Hello all,

I'm a newbie to 80 10 10. I have been 90% raw for about a year. I felt like I was getting too much fat in my diet so that's why I made the change to add more fruit. My goal is to improve my health and cut my body fat. I have not had any body fat changes and it has been about a month. I still go to the raw restaurant once a week to meet up with friends. I might have something dehydrated or some dessert with nuts, but I keep it small and the rest of the day fat…

daaaaaaaaaaaay.... 2.

Yeah... let's not talk about it. =)

I don't really have anything to say, but I feel good. This can be really easy.

Is this my last day 2?

Day 5 - cashew nut addiction!

Ok, so this is my strictly speaking day 5 of LFRV. Today I had one (literally one) leaf of cooked spinach to help my flatmate decide whether they were cooked enough (hell yeah, it was wayyyyy overcooked to me and it started the moment she lit the gas stove!) so I would want to credit myself another successful day instead of a slip-up day.…

Raw foods are not all about food

For those of you who have been following my past blogs, the tone of today’s blog might strike you as being quite different.

Today I am going talk about “relapses“. Not something I ever thought I would write about, but that’s life I guess J . Things can’t be smooth and perfect all the time.…

You are your own bestfriend C:

just came back from a 2 hour evening bike ride

AND

i had some sort of awakening/realization...

As important as it is to have relationships and friendships in life;

You also have to be comfortable with yourself in your own company. by your lonesome :)

I believe that if you cannot have fun/appreciate time with yourself, then how are you suppose to reflect fun off to others?

Its kind of how people say you have to love yourself before you can truly love… Continue

Craving Success

I truly just don't know where to begin. I want to be raw but just don't seem to have the discipline to just stick with it. I know all the benefits, for I have experienced some, but how do I get the wheels churning? One step at a time just doesn't seem to be working. I think my issue could be the calorie thing. I should be consuming more. But I just am not. I think I need a menu plan. Well, there's no time better than the present to make change, so here I go...

updates on ups and dates

Last night I didn't bother closing the curtains thinking the natural sunlight will wake me up.
It did at 7AM sharp!
I got up this morning determined not to exercise (?lol) because my muscles were so sore yesterday and I reckoned I shall rest if I might be detoxing. The determination didn't last long because my body was itching for movement and action. Went to the gym to do the usual workout for an hour. Interval training for cardio really does the trick..I'm sweating…

Bless those who sickened below, and bless us who have chosen so.

I am on day seven now and I am not turning back, you can't change the past. I knew that this was the right thing to do but I didn't know why, and I started a while back transitioning to raw foods, which included all kinds of mixed condiments and vegetables and bad combinations and before I knew it I slipped back to numb limbo. So I thought I'd give it another go but do it right this time, I didn't want to eat vegetables primarily (even though they seem to taste so fine to me) and I wanted to…

Response to "Penniless Vagabond" post

Okay, so I realize that I posted a somewhat (okay very) dramatically downer blog post about a month ago when my husband and I were vagabonding around Spain. So I kinda wanted to give an update/more background info on that.

I was 20 years old when we left on this trip last April. And I think I've grown up a lot since then. I'm certainly far less naive. We left with far too little money in our pockets to last as long as we planned to be out and about in the world. We had originally been… Continue

Day 1

OK, I have been 90 - 95% raw vegan since July 6, 2010. I have lost 27 pounds in that time!! However, not all of my physical complaints have been relieved (most notably chest congestion in right lung and breathing constriction in right lung from a neck injury that damaged my scalene muscles on the right side of my neck). It seems that lately, I have been slipping up...drinking more alcohol and eating more meat. This is BAD!! I have just finished reading 811, and I am now committed to go 100%…

Durian is bad for the liver?

Thought you might want to know about a possible contraindication between durian eating and alcohol consumption.
in case you recommend durian to someone who still imbibes.

Mango Epiphany!

I love mangoes but have always thought of them as a luxury item and rarely buy them.We don't grow tropical fruit in Oregon, alas! But lately I've been thinking of fruit in terms of their by-the-pound price (taking into account the weight of pits, etc.) and I realized that the mango is not really out of range. Bananas are at the low end, at about $1/pound. I look for seasonal sales on grapes, nectarines, etc. for about $2/pound (all organic, of course). Apples are coming into season now on… Continue

Fundraising

Hey all,

Here is my 5th blog post from Coveguardian.blogspot.com. I've been super busy working 7 days per week while planning my trip to Taiji, raising funds, and organizing a vegan bake/raw goodie sale and screening of The Cove. Phew! I'm loving all of it though :)

Here's the blog post:

Hello all,

I'd like to address the subject of raising funds for the dolphins in Taiji.

I created this blog a little over 1 week…
