So, I've just decided tonight that I am going to do 100% raw in October! Wow! It will just about be my first whole raw month since I ate 100% raw for a year and half, which stopped around December 2007. That means I've probably been into and known about raw foods for about 5 years, pretty cool!
Okay, so October is going to be 100% raw. I didnt realise October starts in just a few days, and I get paid on Thursday, so I'll be…

Ohhh things got a little hectic after my trip to Tasmania (apple island went great -they have some seriously good apples down there!) I fell pregnant!.....Had a pretty horrendous first trimester and stopped blogging.
It is such a nice feeling knowing that I have started my pregnancy with such good nutrition!! Unfortunately I have been anything but 80-10-10 during this pregnancy, especially the first three months. A lot of it is fear related, I don't want to rule out any conventional…

Jujubes are making me high. After just this week of doing mostly mono-fruit meals, and not tasting anything because I'm no longer a cook, I've actually got standard detox symptoms again. It's great! And every time I get a wave of feeling like crap, my mental clarity and sense of physical wellness improve better than before:-)
For the last two days, I haven't eaten any greens at all, and I feel great. I would love to come out of my 100 days with the new challenge of 100 days pure LF…

Luke 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
In my walk as a disciple of Jesus Christ, i find the development of a proper character through trial to be a major partner in the journey. The Word has much to say on this subject (as it should being such a big part of the walk overall).
Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Hebrews 12:7 If ye endure chastening,… Continue

I've been lurking here, but haven't had time to post.. or I haven't made time yet..
I haven't started my 80/10/10 yet, I am still getting motivation and reading my book by Dr. Graham. Everything is making so much sense to me. I just need more will-power. I'm not just transitioning to the 811 from regular raw, or from a vegan, I'm a junk food vegetarian. My first step was to cut out soda, and that hasn't gone well, but it did teach me how much I'll need to go within and how much I…

I just bought a case of beautiful ripe jujube fruits yesterday (25 pounds!), and am on an ecstatically blissful island of them today. They have the unique nature of each tasting completely different from one another, so I can eat a boatload. They're also SUPER cleansing, like soft scrubby sponges(okay, that was TMI).
So I'm still sticking to my 100-day challenge, though I got really stressed for three days during management training and started adding flax oil to my banana milk in the AM,…

On track for wearing my 39 inch trousers next week, yeh!
The money I get from entertaining is going on tomatoes, peaches, nectarines. Maybe the occasional melon. I'm not limiting myself to bananas and blackberries. What I mean I got the bug!!! The message has got through my thick skull! No more squirrel philosophy and hiding my money, I now have a lifestyle that I can spend money on! Still bananas will be king.
Blackberry season is over. Apples now in season and I have…

Hey everyone - I'm a newbie so I thought I'd just throw out an intro - hopefully I'll be able to add some decent discussion to the forum. I'm blown away that such a place exists... a place where we can discuss true health without fake politeness & handholding?? Haha, it's great thought. I've lurked for about a week and I am just really inspired by all of your intelligence, security, and lack of BS. Truly refreshing :)
So just a quick little background on how I got here and how I…

2 Samuel 22:2 And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
2 Samuel 22:3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
2 Samuel 22:4 I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
2 Samuel 22:5 When the waves of death compassed me, the…

It happened to me on my long juice feast over a year ago. And eating this way it is happening again;
people and places stink like oh! Rancid!
I keep recoiling from kisses with me beau when he has had garlic or onions; he eats raw and is super hygenic and to me it is still almost unbearable, his breath with those foods now.
And to be in public places in Los Angeles is just making me sick. Hope I adjust back! Its not fun and I love my mans kisses and want em back!
If I have a…

Today, my fruit is apples. I have lots and lots that I get for free at work.
OH-just got a promotion at the day job, I'm out of the kitchen and now managing a deli. The 30% pay increase was rad, I like being able to provide nice things and the best food ever to myself.
The thyroid supplement program I put myself on is really helping everything! Energy, movement, digestive fire, sleep pattern, appetite, mental clarity. All by just taking 1.5 mg of iodine from kelp per day, and…

I decided to go 100% raw 10 months ago after talking with my greatest friend and partner Cathy, who also introduced the vegan diet to me 15 years prior. From her I learned I could eat fruit all day and I wanted to try it. She told me about the 80-10-10 way and introduced me to Dr. Graham, Fredrick Patenaude and Roger Haeske whom she had discovered when she first tried eating raw. So I dove in. I opened an account at fitday.com and started keeping track of what I ate making sure to hit my…

I'm surprised that the "omg simple sugar" fruits are not rotting my teeth! If anything after fruit, they feel as if I brushed them.
I can report huge weight loss, the blackberries are helping alot with this.
I must have about a douzen trousers mostly size 34 inche waist, wish I had a camera so I could be a 811 poster boy and proclaim the success of the diet.
To be fair though, still not following the diet to the tee, must respect for those who do. I understand…

Was bumped, sort-of, going home from visiting my dad after H&F Week, etc. - long story that started with the plane getting delayed from mechanical problems, causing me to miss my connection before we left... ended up leaving a day later. Turned out nice though, they put me up in a hotel, gave me a couple of $8 food vouchers (that I used for bananas, actually found ripe bananas at the airport AND hotel, wow!), and they put me on First Class for my flights back today. Nice.
They…

Having a lousy day with really bad cravings. I´ve never been that fond of pizza before, but for some reason it´s the only thing on my mind right now. I guess it´s because I haven´t eaten enough today due to poor planning. It´s okay when nothing out of the ordinary happens, but whenever something breaks my daily routine I loose focus. But so far I´m still raw and trying to be strong.

This is a continuation of a blog i posted called "A few thoughts on conventional education." You can find it here: http://arawconnection.ning.com/profiles/blogs/a-few-thoughts-on-conventional
(You can find both of them with pics on my blog, www.badashclimber.blogspot.com)
I cannot deny my brain the knowledge that it is craving at this moment.
I talked to someone who is actually taking the same course at the University of Natural Health that I am planning…

Why am I here?
Why did I think a mainstream university would suit me?
I am so far off the conventional realm of things.... This is not a good idea.
Why do we go to school, anyway? What IS school?
Who came up with it? When did it become the “norm” to go to school?
Don't get me wrong. I love to learn. We are born to learn. We are curious creatures.
But when did this “school” thing come into action?
Can't I just learn…
