JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER HAS COLON CANCER AND BOY DID THAT CATAPULT ME INTO GOING 811. HER IDEA OF HEALTHY IS A BOTTLE OF OIL ON TOP OF WHITE RICE AND MEAT.NEED I SAY MORE? 82 YEARS OLD AND HAS BEEN SICK WITH GOD KNOWS WHAT FOR THE LAST 40 YEARS. I NEEDED A FIRE UNDER MY BUT(EXCUSE THE COOKED EXPRESSION) BUT THAT IS WHAT DID IT FOR ME...PLUS, SINCE I KNOW SO MUCH ABOUT THIS WAY OF LIFE FROM WATCHING THE BENEFITS MY HUSBAND HAS EXPERIENCED IN THE LAST 18 MONTHS OF 811, I MIGHT…

THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT A GREAT JUICY WATERMELON THAT SEEMS TO SATISFY EVERY CELL IN MY BODY AND CLEAN THEM OUT! I FEEL SO ALIVE FROM IT.
IF I COULD HAVE A SWEET SWEET WATERMELON LIKE I JUST DID EVERYDAY, IT WOULD KEEP ME ON TRACK FOR LIFE..SOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN CANDY:) I SHOULD KNOW, I HAVE BEEN EATING THAT JUNK LATELY AND FEELING TOXIC. DON'T KNOW WHAT MADE ME EAT THAT JUNK WHEN THE FRUIT IS SO SWEET AND WATERY. CANDY DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING ON A FRUIT. A SWEET FRUIT WINS EVERY…

I'm still enjoying a restful time with my parents, sleeping, eating well and going for lovely walks with our dogs.
My food has been lovely, it's so easy to eat here with my folks. I eat slightly differently as I would at home because i include salad at lunch time instead of mono fruit, but it feels more social and that's a pleasure.
Today i've eaten:
1 1/2 small honeydew melon (yum!)
About 1.5 lbs of grapes and salad (celery, toms,…

"The Sufis have a proverb: If you sleep on the floor, you won’t fall out of bed. True enough. But are there any other reasons to do such a thing? Surprisingly, sleeping without a mattress can provide numerous benefits. If you have read “Quantum Eating“, you know that I speak from experience. Sleeping on the floor can become a part of the raw food lifestyle.
The first time I tried sleeping on the floor was after witnessing the Boutenko family (www.rawfamily.com) doing so while…

Just a quickie today as i am at my parents house with my husband and Scruffy (my little terror of a terrier). I am so blessed as both my parents are very supportive of my food choices and my mum eats pretty much the same way. We both started the Beverly Hills Diet when i was 15 (I'm 42 now) which was based on Natural Hygiene, so my day has started with fruit for a long time (The Beverly Hills diet started with about 3 weeks all fruit, which at the time was quite revolutionary).
My…

Okay so I haven't been feeling so hot the past couple of days and then today I wake up with what feels like two ear infections, a throat infection and a dry cough. Is fasting for at least today a good idea? I really hope that this is detox except I'm concerned it''s just a reaction from the raw sunflower seeds I've recently started eating. Have I completely ruined my progress, and should I blame this sickness on cleansing or those pesky seeds? Anyways, I hope this goes away. Oh, and I also have…

OK I was considering whether to keep my little (massive!) cock up to myself, but decided to remain honest because I'm always learning and there is a big lesson to be learnt here.
Yesterday i felt brilliant; calm and connected. In the evening our new neighbours had a BBQ and we opened up our part of the yard so there was more room for us. I like parties but since i stopped drinking I often feel a little awkward. Unfortunately my ego-mind suddenly sweet talked me into have a drink and…

Take life in your hands,
and do not let anyone else give it direction.
As much as they love you or wish your well,
Only you can feel what you feel
And the impression you pass to others
Does not always match what's going on in your soul.
How many times have you smiled to conceal a stubborn tear?
How often have you wanted to scream and stifle the anguish that tried to come out?
How often have you wanted to run yet remained out of…

Hi folks
Now it must look as if I am obsessed with my weight...well i am and i'm not. Does that make it clearer?
Of course i am aware of my weight and do prefer to be lighter, mainly because of practical reasons such as my health, energy, clarity of mind etc. I also love to eat...I am a quantities girl, no little girly portions for me! So, LFRV works well for me and SAD doesn't for this reason. When i eat cooked carb (wheat, any grain) and drink alcohol, especially beer,…

I've been struggling with my mental health the past couple of days. This is a reoccuring problem in my life that has made sticking with anything difficult. But, my "episodes" of depression/anxiety/stress, and distorted thinking are less severe than in the past and I recover much more quickly. I am proud that yesterday, I remained sober because it was very difficult to not cave in... especially when having feelings of hopelessness and thoughts suicide. (all really coming down to letting my ego…

Hi folks
Having joined this wonderful forum when it started and then disappearing due to depression I have returned, more focused and accepting of my journey than ever. I had been doing the best I could in isolation, but unfortunately I stumbled and fell straight into a pie (and biccy's,bread and larger!) last week. Although it was very enjoyable at the time, my IBS and slim (ish) body did not agree! I have turned into a great big munching pie eater...AHhhhhhhhh!
Anyway,…

It's official, I had gained 15 lbs going back to 811. I was kind of expecting that though, before I was only consuming a thousand cals per day, now I'm at 17-2,000, and off the coffee habit I had gotten back this summer, I should have known better, I had spent almost a year trying to heal my adrenals and thyroid.
But now it's snapping back into place, and the weight is coming off on it's own. Still exercising like mad too:-)
I honestly know that I look great at any size, but I don't…

Some friends are essential, simple
like that dirt road in the small town,
which can be sighted entirely from the hilltop,
from we where to leave to where to go
transparent and reliable.
Others have just arrived,
as roads that we know only from the guide,
and let us venturing without really knowing their limits -
unknown paths,
but always worth travelling.
There are friends that resemble those vicinal roads
that we rarely…

While I was at a meditation course for a few weeks I reverted back to cooked meals. Allthough I brought my own fruits, it was just a disguise to my alibi of "Oh, it's vacation, loosen up and enjoy yourself".
I'm only recently learning that I need to stock up more than I usually do. Better preparation for social events would also be a plus and then the infamous thinking 3 times before I act.
It's been a week now and I've noticed thru daily logging, reading the discussions and staying…

Crazy open-ended August
leaves us on the verge of harvest.
Gazing forward, black and honest:
gaping holes we've yet to harness.
Phrases yet to carry home.
Places I have yet to roam.
Trapsing on, we wait for sawdust's
hazy dust to end in August.
Torture is the triple fold.
Forfeiture and ice's hold,
complicated by our goals.
Emaciated carbon souls.
Tips of fingers, barely noticed,
when seated in this stressful…

Feels like every time I return to my energetic "home plane", the vibes get higher and tighter each time I get back in touch with my true self.
I am free.
I am living the best life ever.
Manifesting left and right. Manifesting free fruit! Yesterday rescued 15# of cling peaches from a sagging tree, today every time I got hungry a new fruit bowl appeared in the kitchen, and I got a free large yellowdoll for lunch:-)
Fruit trees are speaking much more loudly, I've been…

Street Markets

Today is saturday, day of "feira livre" and feira in Brazil meaning a markets to take place, one or more streets are closed to traffic and the traders set up their stalls as early as daybreak. Brazil is a country which has the most incredible variety of fruits. They happen always in the mornings and the prices will go down as time passes.... Going there around 12/13 am is a good idea...
The little stalls offer an…

So despite the depression still hanging heavy like a rain cloud, my eating has been much better. I had a green smoothie for breakfast and some new season mango with passion fruit as a snack.
I am going overt-free for a while but unfortunately, the only way I enjoy my salads is with a great big avo on top! A plain salad is not appealing, two nights running I have made one but not eaten it. I do not crave fruit at night but today I picked up a few organic sweet potatoes. Is it worth…
