Hello dear Frutas,
I must say, peer pressure can be quite a heartbreaking experience.
So as the title suggests, I fell of the wagon. Hard. I'm honestly still in shock. I think it's time for me to come clean with everyone and give my whole story from the beginning up to today.
I've been dieting since I was 8 years old. As time passed by the seriousness of my dieting escalated. Today I am 17 years old. I have "mysterious" scars all over my body…Continue
Once in awhile I've had a day where none of the fruit I've so carefully purchased ends up to be spectacular.
Today, what is usually one of my favorite combos (blended canteloupe and orange --- bad combining, yes I know) turned out acrid and difficult to even drink... and I can't figure out why. Then I made a banana peach smoothie to take to work, and it too turned out acrid (I think that although the bananas had brown spots, the stems were still green, and they hay have not been…Continue

Hello fruity friends! It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged on here, but it’s time for a change, and I hope blogging will keep me accountable. To make a long story short, I am starting a month long LFRV challenge beginning in August. I would love to have company, so if you want to join, just let me know! Okay, now that’s the short version; if you want to know the how and why keep on reading :)
My name is Candice, and I am 21 years old. This fall I will be in my junior year…Continue
Hi, I just started RVLS to hopefully help with an mild/morderate but persistant candida problem. If anyone as any experience in doing RVLS in the begginning whilst having candida, I would muchappreciate any comment/advice/ support, thanx joanne
I always have Sundays off, and recently I have started taking Sundays VERY easy. I've decided to try to get most errands done during the rest of the week so that I don't have to worry about a thing on my day of rest. I do, however, enjoy going grocery shopping on Sundays, or to the farmer's market if I am lucky. So, today I went shopping and stocked up on wonderful produce and raw nuts. Everything I bought was vegan and the only non-raw items I purchased were almond-coconut milk and flax…Continue

After almost a year hiatus from the raw diet, I'm back at it. Thank the fruit flies for Freelee's Banana Girl challenge which struck an interest in my wife who is now fully on board with the raw diet.
Our fridge and kitchen are now full of cases of bananas, tangerines, mangos and strawberries. I'm pumped! Time to go eat another banana!
See you on the other side of the compost heap.

I only made it half way through day 2! It was 106 degrees in the shade, with full Iowa humidity. Most of the first day, i was feeling great! We stayed with my aunt and uncle in Iowa for a day before the ride started, so i was able to go to the grocery store and stock up on fruit. The night before the ride, i cracked open a gallon of bottled water, and finished it right before i started riding. I started off fully hydrated, and pissing clear every half hour. I started off with plenty of…Continue

I've been craving mangoes all the time these days. Well, I worked a half shift yesterday and all I could think about was mangoes. When I got off work around 2 I was starving. I made the big mistake I keep making over and over again: I went too long without eating. Four hours is a long time when you are trying to start off raw. So, instead of going home and eating my delicious mangoes, I went to a local vegan/raw vegan restaurant, but I didn't even order off the raw portion of the menu!…Continue
Would love to connect with other raw vegan mamas... my son is still primarily breastfed at 8 months and the only foods he's eaten has been pureed fruits, some hemp seed milk, and avocado...
During my pregnancy I did experience some enamel loss on 10 different teeth and really need to re-mineralize... any advice on that too? So far I am eating more greens and rebalancing the calcium/phosphorus.
gotta go run after my crawling baby.... be back later
This will be a short one, but hopefully it will inspire.
A month ago, I bought cleats for my bicycle shoes. I have Look 247 pedals and they use Look Delta cleats. I went to a store local to my job. They handed me Vangàrd cleats. They are copies of Look's own Delta-cleats. Although they are roughly $5 cheaper than Look's cleats, they are utter crap:…Continue

So, I'm pretty new to this lifestyle and I'm still transitioning to being totally lfrv so I've been still eating boiled potatoes every now and then when I get a cooked food craving. I was just wondering if I continue eating potatoes would I get the same benefits from this diet? Or should I cut them out as soon as I can? Any advice is welcome!
My family came to visit me this past week in Austin. My father is a "meat and potatoes" vegetarian. My mother is mostly a pescetarian, but she eats a wide variety of things and is probably at least 50% raw. My bother eats red meat and cheese. That is all. They thought it was extreme when I went vegan for the first time a few years ago, so I was really wondering how they'd react to the fact that the next time they see me I will be eating mostly fruit. Of course, they all had different…Continue
So of course after about 8 days of 801010 i started 'talking' to someone which means going out for food. most of the time it would be after work where i haven't eaten in HOURS so i am most vulnerable. for about a week and a half to two weeks i fell wayyyy off the wagon...mostly eating chocolate any chance i got. still not eating much meat (I'll admit i did have coconut shrimp twice that week :( ) but my bloating and gas surprisingly didnt affect me....
i was still trying to…Continue
Today I ate:
At least 45-50 dates
I plan to eat some more dates and a mixed vegetable salad for dinner. Today I noticed myself getting hungry and began to crave cooked foods, including my habitual coffee...but I resisted the urge until I got home, and ate a handful of dates. I kind of had Durianrider's constant reminder to eat more carbs to live more, on the brain. I was proud of myself! Day one of attempted 100% until my travel plans…Continue
yesterday i ran 5k

today i rode my horse and worked up a good sweat for 45 minutes (strength and cardio pretty much)
pilates is at 6:30 and im not sure if i should go or if i should rest...
Hi Fruit people, in your collective experiences have you suggestions for slowing down
or eliminating the zillions of fruit flies growing exponentially from the ever renewing bowls of
fruit on my table? thanks
So, I had 6 awesome weeks and then came week 7 and everything suddenly seemed to get really difficult.
I don't know why but I lost my motivation and felt like "why?" I gained some weight back, felt lethargic, unhappy with myself. It was so much harder to go to the gym. And I am just overall disappointed with myself for the past week.
I have stayed great about not eating animal products but cooked food had a little bit of a hold on me. And then I got my period.....I…
Is it just me or is focusing on percentages of raw-ness not very effective when it comes to eating raw? I know that saying "I'm 100%" or "I'm 99%" can be convincing for other people once you've become raw, helping them see in a more numerical form that you're only eating fruit, greens, veggies, etc.
But in terms of changing over to the diet, I am not so sure that it is helpful. I see a lot of discussions on flip-flopping and monitoring day-to-day. I am a newbie and…Continue
