A Video Summary of the Nutritional Problems with Dairy
I have a few new blog posts, one of which presents a fantastic video summary of the nutritional problems with dairy by Dr. McDougall. The most serious mistake a person can make is to believe cow's milk is healthy, or a necessary source of calcium. Heart disease, cancer, type-2 diabetes, arthritis, and infectious disease are only a few of the common consequences of drinking milk from other animals. This is a great lecture (and article) to share with friends and family who…

I have been following the lfrv lifestyle since the start of the year. This past month I have found that I am putting on weight on my belly :( I am approx 90%-95% raw. I go to the gym 4 times a week, plus ride my bike to and from the gym, I do a lot of walking as well & I also have a 2 year old son who keeps me very busy.
Just after any insight on this issue as I am really conscious when I go to the gym now coz I'm bigger than when I started :( I currently weigh around 54.5kg. I…

3rd overall at Escarpment trail race.
Got 3rd overall on one of the toughest (although it's not ultra distance) trail running courses in US! Take a look: http://escarpmenttrail.com/
My time 3:11, Ben N. won again beating me by 18min. He was recently 6th at the I.A.U. Ultra Trail World Championship in Ireland (70km), so I had 0 chance. Second guy was 8 min ahead of me, fourth - 8 min behind. At the start - 200…

My prolapsed disk and spondylitis recovery
Since my early twenties, I had a prolapsed disk and spondylitis in my lower back.
To start with I had excruciating back pain, sciatica pain down my right leg, leg numbness and a limp. The weakness in my right leg continued to the extent where my right leg lost muscle mass and looked skinnier than my left leg. I couldn’t stand on my toes using my right leg as my calf muscle was really weak. The sciatica and numbness did eventually stop and my leg recovered and I was…

About Me Post & Starting 811 100% Tomorrow (I need more energy- I have an infant to care for!)
So.......... I'm really excited cuz I just bought a bunch of fruit and now my counter looks colorful. I've been doing 811Raw off and on for a while and I'm really ready to kick it up a notch. It's weird how cooked food that I used to LOVE tastes not so good anymore... like rice or couscous just tastes dry and spaghetti tastes rubbery. I probably spelled that wrong but whatever.
I think a big challenge will be keeping enough ripe fruit in the house. It's…
