i realized that for the past few days, i've been bs-ing myself a lot. i was undereating heaps because i was running around the place with my friend and i felt bad to lug her home every time i wanted to eat coz i had my store of mangoes and bananas and dates at home. i loved to blend stuff up and guzzle down the calories and i always try to eat before i go out but i stay out for long hours and i made the mistake of not bringing fruit out with me. there were times i tried staving off hunger… Continue

Still enjoying 811 LFRV but - socially face many challanges.
Being the only vegetarian / now 811 LFRV at most social events can be, and is a big challange.
Having this website for support is great - access to so many discussions and opinions by people who are on the same page is priceless.

Hey just wanted to blog real quick. Today was my day off, but of course the dogs woke me up around seven anyways, lovely right? So after that I took a quick shower and have basically laid in bed all day watching TV. The hard part about cable is the number of food related commercials, television shows, etc...It's food food food everywhere! So I tried to keep it on the movie channels and avoid those commercials- I did crack and watch a juicing infomercial YUM, and Man vs. Food(which I swear right… Continue

I read 811 in Spring '08. Just like I am learning from marriage... daily commitment in many different ways. I bought the book this morning. Bought 20lbs of naners yesterday, banana smoothies all day. Feeling good. I have a date with my trampoline in a few. I guess today is day 2 of LFRV.. AGAIN. HA!
Shall I marry the 811 diet? do I love it that much to make a commitment? Hm, maybe take it on a few dates first and kiss it a little like Free does ;) . We are all but brainwashed, me… Continue

For years I thought I was of bad nutrition b/c my hair would fall out in clumps evertime I took a shower. So I go to the Caribbean for…

I am on, I am off. HA! What an experience!
Since Spring of '08 I have been on and off lfrv/811. With my longest stints being 2 1/2 months and at a 2 month interval with no overts. I wonder what the lesson is here. Hm. High Fat, Low Fat, cooked vegan, raw dairy, gourmet raw, juice feasts. OMG. Gain 10-15lbs, lose 10 lbs. Exercise a LOT every day, little exercise for weeks.
I work at a cafe that serves vegan Indian food, and Raw Gourmet Gelato. I have had my fair share of… Continue

So today was day three of my water fast. It's still pretty cold here in KY, so I made myself a light schedule out in the barn today and then planned to run farm errands the rest of the day, however all did not work out the way I'd have liked. This morning I held horses for the farrier, not much work involved just standing for the most part, with the exception of the babies/stallion which more work was involved to get their cooperation. Well anyways about two hours into it I began to REALLY feel… Continue

Busy, busy, busy........
Was tempted and seduced by a slice or two of pizza yesterday evening. The love affair is now officially over and the effects are noted. Inetrestingly my spleen felt like it had a stich most of this morning.
All meals today 811 lfrv.
Other than that all still on track.

So I didn't do a blog entry on last week's class as i had hoped. it went astonishly well yet again.. then the next day i was driving into town to get my groceries and got into a head on collision making a turn at an intersection.. in short my car was a writeoff but remarkably I got away with some relatively minor injuries (banged my left knee/wrist/rib pretty good) and the other driver wasn't injured at all. I had to wear a knee brace initially, and my wrist and fingers were virtually imobile… Continue

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew when to expect some stuff here in the States at regular healthfood stores. I would really like to get into this more and go low fat except for an occasional flax cracker or some hemp or chia seeds- pretty soon.
I went to every healthfood store in town just to see if anyone is importing anything good but not yet- or never. I dont know if some places will start stocking later in the season or if it has to be all special ordered. I am moving to a… Continue

Day 40 of the Fruit Feast. 40 is a significant Bible number. It signifies a time of testing and spiritual contemplation. A time of trusting in the strength of the God of Heaven. Christ fasted 40 days Continue
and was tempted of satan. Moses communed with Christ for 40 days on Mt
Sinai (twice). Elijah did as well. The children of Israel were in the
wilderness for 40 years as the Bible says "to prove them" (Deut 8:2).
Christ stayed with the disciples for 40 days following…

I create my own obstacles.
I don't want to leak out any energy at all in the wrong direction! blegh.
There are many things I notice (thoughts, motives, etc.) that were not in alignment with peace, but I remained in ignorance.
They always come back... and they don't ever reap what I want to reap if I'm not at peace with them... these are those areas where my… Continue

To follow Wonderlust's lead and graciousness, here's some more of my notes and his time-tested wisdom. I was very impressed with Dr. Graham's calm, mellow delivery of his teachings as well as answers to crowd questions; there was no aura of finaticism or militant demands in order to make raw work. So, here it is - even if parts duplicate Wonderlust's post, (it may be a good thing to read again… Continue

I feel like such a coarse person.
It does not feel good.
Uhrr I'm feeling like... I just want to fast on water silently, and to myself.
I wish to be more careful at all times... :*[
I let ego take over... in subtle ways, but it carries over.
I just want to promise I'll do better. Live with… Continue

So I'm a 17 year old teenage girl interested in going raw.
What's quite discouraging is that I'm the only one I know who's even thinking of adapting to this kind of lifestyle.
I've tried going 80% raw for a week and ended up cheating on the 5th day while eating out with my sister.
Then I went back to my SKAD diet. What is that you ask?
SKAD = Sad Korean-American diet. I though it looked kinda cool.
Anyways, after making hummus for myself (chickpeas, raw garlic,… Continue

Right? So that's what I was thinking tonight when I got out of the shower and the house was filled with the aroma of Italian herbs and spices. It practically smelled like my great grandma's kitchen. Well it was just my bf cooking some veggies with italian herbs.
I was feeling a tiny bit unsatisfied with all my food for the day. I made it to my dinner meal, ate my delicious lfrv hummus, with MUCH delight. Then about an hour later I was hungry again despite having met my caloric needs… Continue

I have gained an enormous amount of weight this winter and it is overwhelming. The cold, nasty and snowy dreary days have taken their toll on me to have me cave into horrible cooked fare. I have also seemed tp develop a really bad obssesion and addiction again to cooked fare. I have lost so much control... More than ever actually.
I went off the deep end and now I am paying a very hefty (pun intended) price. I am carrying around too much baggage now and I find it very difficult to… Continue
