Fruit for free, for you from me

Fruit for free

This is gonna be awesome, I am sure that. I am so excited about this project. The idea came to my mind almost year ago, that we can actually make people so happy just by one small gift for free, by piece of fruit or vegie. We can share our love, everybody deserve to be loved cause all of us are unique but not everybody can realize…

Settling in (for the most part)

I have been transitioning to lfrv since last Aug or Sept or so.  I've been doing just fruits and vegs (except for commercial fat free salad dressings) since Jan 2 and even managed 2 social occasions without veering off.  I've really had no desire for other foods at all, even when preparing food for my kids.

Last night I had another event and I just went with the flow and ate some sweet potato mash and breadfruit "pudding," rice and peas and even a bit of cake for dessert.…

Another winter food crisis...

For the last week or so I've been faithfully eating 3,000+ calories in mostly monomeals or simple combinations.

I would often have banana smoothie or 2 liters of fresh squeezed OJ as a meal. I've been feeling really good. I began to feel a lot warmer most of the time - super warm actually. My desire to exercise increased significantly. My overall motivation to "survive and succeed" went up.

However in the last couple of days I began to feel repulsion toward most of the…

No Poo- Week 2

So, two weeks have passed since I used shampoo and conditioner on my hair. I have to say it's going fantastic. I was under the impression that my hair would be almost unbearably greasy for a couple of months but not so far... That being said, it does feel a little dry right now. This could be due to the fact that I've never really felt my real hair texture because it's always been covered in products and  blow dried/straightened.

It's been great thus far. I haven't used any…

Re-feeding – Week 1

Day 1 – Slept badly again and was thinking about fruit all night so food is what I got in the morning.  Was great to have my first meal and it tasted fantastic!  Was also surprisingly satisfying. Went to bed straight after it and slept till the next meal 2 hours later.  Had 5 meals for the first day of watermelon and thoroughly enjoyed everyone one of them.  Such good watermelon!  I also can have papaya but just want watermelon.  It’s very tiring to be eating again and I just basically sleep…

Got it together

I've been gone for a while, traveling and what not.  Raw has never been too far from my mind, however, everytime I tried to go 100% I think I sabotaged it by wanting it so bad that I was always thinking about food, the food I couldn't have.

When my boyfriend and I got back from travelling around I recruited him to go raw with me for 30 days since our home was void of cooked food distractions.  And also, we didn't have any family/friend dinners coming up. (I think I will deal…

Primates

So, I've become addicted to RadioLab WNYC. I listen to a podcast with my dinner.

While I'm eating my delicious celery, red bell pep, and tom soup, I'm listening to the Morality episode. This section of the broadcast is ruminating over the primitive area of the brain that causes us to make certain moral decisions. Primates have very distinct moral codes which seem to carry over to us. They share, take care of each other, etc. etc. The question is posed how much do we really have in…

Thank you everyone!! My "mixed feelings" are gone :)

Hello there! I just wanted to thank  you all (Nickyep, Garth, Sultana, Mark, Mish, Hannah, DR, Jeffrey, Sideah...everyone!!) for the good advice I received in my thread of "mixed feelings". I really appreciate all your comments and concerns. There's so many insights that I will keep and that will sure help me on my way.

Some of you (Todd, Kyndra, Jenna-Rae, Olivia...) talked about how difficult is to stick with the rare cooked meal as it is very addictive, so you'd rather stay 100%.…

15 Days in

Still holding up pretty well. Getting in at least an hour workout a day, 2 liters of water and logging almost everyday in a paperback journal. When I get to work I just load my desk drawer with fruits, which looks kind of funny. In the beginning I was thinking about giving myself a cheat day, but from what I've been reading and partly experiencing it's not a good idea, because it's just setting me up to go overboard. A few days I have felt a huge difference where my energy level was high and… Continue

Successful Beginning Yayuh!

Yesterday was pretty much perfect.

I started school last week. The days that I have school are Mondays/Wednesdays, and I'm there for 12 hours. I had run into the problem of hunger the days I've been in school with the exception of yesterday!

I packed my food the night before with 1/2 pineapple, oranges, 32oz. of fresh OJ and 32oz. of water.

Banana Debate - unripe Banana or no Banana

hi guys,

i understand eating bananas unripe is not a great idea.. can someone shed the light and tell me exactly why that is? (something to do with the starches not changing to sugars yet)

the thing is that i get most of my calories from bananas and i cant handle many dates.. so i dont think i'd reach 3000 calories a day (4000 being my target) if i wasnt eating bananas.

so do i avoid the bananas and only hit 2500 calories (not a gr8 idea imo as…

What did you think of Veganism?

What did you think of veganism before you were vegan?

I met a ninjutsu  practitioner who was a vegan. He was obsessed with eating healthy. His whole family was very healthy, except they'd have "junk day" once a week in which they binged on pizza, oreos and chips. I used to think they were freaky to be honest.

My first view of the culture of veganism was that vegans were weak and skinny.

One look at the fruitarian, and I thought "this diet is horrible!". It wasn't…
