There was a lot of snow for us here.
It was sweet of my guy friend who I am seeing to visit and spend time at my place, played pool with me, and then drove me to his parents' place and ate dinner, then played Scrabble with the family. You know what his mom served for the meal? Fruits and salad. Papaya, pineapple, honey dew melon. The salad was really good too, a good mix of baby greens, cilantro and cucumbers. They are some of the awesomest people I've met.
This is just…

I was wondering if people had stories about how they handled living in a college dorm and being raw. Its something I've been thinking about.

I made a humongous spinach salad...
Spinach, red bell pepper, cucumber, carrots (came in my CSA box), tomatoes and avocado with fresh basil.
My sister and I were watching Alice in Wonderland while I was eating my salad. Without fail, my sister asked to look at my salad so she could take a bite. I told her it was different than the salads I used to make (with salt and vinegar)...
She tried it and said "THAT'S DELICIOUS!"
:)
My…

I'm running the Western States 100mile endurance run in California (Lake Tahoe/Auburn) in late June 2010. I am going to train hard for this race and will be looking to place high. I am in need of some hard core athlete's/runners who live in the area who could crew me in this race. I am looking for people that know about 811 fuel and what goes into crewing an ultra runner who is hell bent on pushing the limits.
If you don't know what crewing is, this is not the race to learn about it, I'm…

I have been trying to 100% raw since October 09' with varying degrees of success. I would go on for 5 days straight then go off for one or two meals and then on again for 5-10 days. I lost about 20 lbs doing that and I felt better than I have in a long time. However I wanted to go 30 days and I never did. Finally my brother and I talked it over and made a 500$ bet to see who could go 30 days. I'm on day 8 today and I'm feeling pretty good mentally. Physically however I am in rough shape because…

Why is it that when people approach a raw vegan diet with about 15% or even 40% of their intake is fat, they lose weight so quickly. Where as I, have that and start to gain about 5 lbs???? What's up with that? I mean, I workout and my cals are so low right now. I am also from the unlucky catagory of gaining weight while nursing a baby and every other woman doing the dsame seems to shed the weight so easily?
Well, let me be a bit more honest here. I must be having a lot more than 15% if I…

Day 12 of the Fruit Fast. The body temple is definitely cleaning itself out as it was alittle bloated today. i am very happy with this having been through it before and understand what is going on. We have been able to secure some delicious navel oranges as reasonable prices this week so i stayed on Orange Island for breakfast this morning. The orange is a great blessing indeed. The more i contemplate the depth of the Love of Christ for me, the more i feel like i am so far from where i should…

I had set my official date to begin 100% LFRV for February 1st, after a few months of planning, preparation, and research. I decided last night: I just cannot wait anymore. I do not see any reason to put it off, other than I am somewhat neurotic and prefer to start anything on a nice solid date (a Monday, and the 1st of a month... that was just too perfect). Anyway, I decided what better time than now?
I also decided that I wanted to kick this off Banana Island style. I think 10 days…

I'm so good at eating 80-10-10 during the day, but night time is another story. I haven't been able to beat the cooked food eating at night.
And I know it is all about seeking comfort with food. Sometimes it is that I'm seeking that warm, heavy feeling cooked food can give me. Other times it is habit. Sometimes it is seeking that numbing feeling that overeating on cooked can give me.
I really want to succeed at going 100% LFRV. I like the energy that fresh, raw food seems…

Hello to everyone
Does anybody here has helped himself with the 811 diet overcoming real serious diseases like cancer or AIDS ?
I am trying to find on the net testimonials of people dealing succesfully with cancer or serious infectious diseases while on a high fruit diet .
Most success cases come from people following the Hippocrates Institue diet which is a low/medium fat raw vegan diet but with no fruits at all .

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I have suffered enormously from what we beleive to be a parasympathetic nervous system disorder known as
"Reynaud's" disease, by which one's fingers and toes can go completely numb very easily in the cold.
My body used to define "cold" as *anything below 70f*!
Today, I walked around all day without hat, gloves etc... and even went for short jog this evening at 30 degrees F ( 0 degrees C) and not an ioda of feeling cold nor…

Simply put, excessive strain misshapes the eyeball. Nearly all wearers of glasses strain their eyes (and most are tense in the neck and shoulders as well). When they learn to relax, their eyesight improves.
Myopia occurs when the eyeball is elongated so the focal point is no longer touching the back of the retina. Since clarity of eyesight is so important, if a person (or chimpanzee) has refractive lenses placed upon them, they will involuntarily elongate their eyeball to…

There are some things that are too funny or interesting to keep to myself. Just gotta share the comments somewhere...THUS...a blog post!
Last Saturday in my acrylic painting class, a group of us in the class got into a diet discussion. I can't remember if I mentioned this here, but it all started when a woman asked me if I was on a banana diet. LOL. She said, "All I ever see you eating is bananas" It's a 5 hour class, so we spend a lot of time together. I just told her "No, I'm…

Day 11 of the Fruit Fast. i received some stress today. i came as i had to make certain financial decisions that would affect my family. Financial stress is one the reasons in times past i would tend to overeat or eat at improper times. i felt it heavy upon me, but i can report that by the Grace given me from Heaven, i was able to weather it. The decision i made will cost me several thousand dollars that are badly needed, but its the right thing. i was reminded of the scripture in Romans which…

Why soulful? Cause I've been reflecting on things and reaffirming what matters to me.
I am grateful for everything. Yet, I am scared for some things! This life hangs in the balance!
I sort of started a relationship. Really, I just want to be friends who care about each other with the person I am in a relationship with. I want to do caring things for them and be a person who has fun as we take on challenges, and support each other... that kind of thing. I think once that is…

I'm glad I stopped taking my meds and I'm glad I'm listening to my body instead of pushing it over hurdles and through obstacles.
Top song playing in my car right now (from Rockapella's CD Smilin'):
Off My Mind
Scott Leonard
When I'm alone
I get the newest sort of feeling, somewhere in here
When I'm alone
can't seem to get you off my mind
Days'll go by
I start to thinkin like I'm over you
Suddenly I
can't seem…

Every time I eat almonds, a handful, I sneeze. And I wake up the next morning with a few sneezes too.
I'm taking this as a signal from my body telling me not to eat almonds anymore/right now. So interesting...
No more almonds.. oh well!
It's so weird how my body keeps wanting to simplify! It makes sense, but my mind needs to catch up with it all.
The 811 life is going well. Except last night I went to my dad's bday dinner (to Spaghetti Factory). I…
