Cravings

Yesterday I had a thought

Sneak right up inside my mind

What is that really lovely smell?

Has my nose been reassigned?

It was coming from the staff canteen.

I could smell a bacon roll.

But I haven’t had a piggy

Since turning veggie saved my soul.

My mouth began to water

And my stomach gave a growl.

Were my raw days over?

Was I throwing in the towel?

But then my mind began to clear

And I know what I did wrong.

I didn’t eat… Continue

The Epiphany

I used to be a drinker

And hardly left the pub.

I downed loads of beer and wine

And loads of fatty grub.

So every single morning

I would always feel like crap.

The Mrs had to wake me

With cold water and a slap.

But then I did some reading

And had a change of heart,

I purchased some John Robbins

And Doug Graham played his part.

So now I’m still a drinker

Liquid fruit is all I take.

I drink more than ever

And feel amazing… Continue

The Combo Abombo

Earlier I ate a meal
Now food to me holds no appeal.
For my meal I had a date
With avocado on my plate.

My main concern since then is gas
Every minute out from my ass.
Because of my almighty bloat
I fear that soon my poo will float.

I think I know what they would say
At 30 bananas a day.
“To give yourself some normal stools
Follow combination rules!”

My Ode to Bananas.

When I saw you on the shelf,
I thought I’d buy you - for my health.
I have a place for you my hun
By the window - in the sun

You weren’t the ripest I had seen,
Sitting there a shade of green.
But as the green began to fade,
You turned a brighter, yellow shade.

Then as my hunger began to win,
I saw spots appearing - on your skin.
I really loved you for my lunch,
But thank the Lord I bought the bunch!

Treehugger,
Thanks for the information, I appreciate it. Is there no high-tech, ultra-insulated, ultra-temperature-controlled greenhouse out there in which someone could grow stuff during winter? How did you get into planting/gardening?

Hey Treehugger,
Do you know how one might start growing one's own food? Perhaps doing so in a greenhouse in a cold climate? Great poems by the way.

Hey TreeHugger,

Ah Birmingham. I lived there for a few years not too long ago while working a job. Personally I liked the midlands better than london. I live outside of london are try to avoid the city as much as possible! I only go there to meet friends, never on my own. It's too busy and crowded for the likes of me!

Yep, great to see many local folks embracing the LFRV lifestyle. Soon, they'll be lots of us! :-)

Love and Peace

Hey Tom

Cheers for the name :o) Glad to hear you feel like a different person. Eating this way definately induces a completely new sense of self and clarity. Yes it would be lovely if we could all get our families and friends on board, but you just have to lead the way :o)

Take care
