I'm a personal trainer, based in eastern practices (Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Yoga) I'm also an artist and performer with The Living Theatre in NYC. Below is my artist Statement and site.

Artist Statement

The most profound effect on my art has been the richness of life...the impact of a glimpse of skin can have on the brain...the smell of the ocean, the wrath of its waves...the tantalizing pleasure to the tongue of filet mignon cooked rare then paired with a bold red wine. And the colors that stir my emotions come from my memories of these experiences. Skin: sensual gold, creamy buff, and bronze umber. Ocean: gleaming turquoise and regal cobalt. Rich juicy mango: sunset yellow, divine forests: Rich grounding green. The world around me inspires my art. An unfamiliar surrounding can renew and awaken the senses.
The more I experience cities, people, food, language, the broader my strokes become. My passion is painting, what motivates me is its exploration.
These works are representational of my desire to create and expand on color. To bring out the vibrancy of divergent hues and tones at there best via the contrasting colors, compositions, and texture.
Significant influences on my work besides the desire to bring beauty out in everyday life have been to carry on the historical lineage from the abstract expressionist movement. Also a play on impressionistic ideals of quick movement, encapsulation of motion and juncture, a present stroke and physicality of paint along with the painter. To see the brush strokes and create a place for a personal space in time combines a sense of tangible movements viewed within the work and a presence of the paintings being painting, transcending time and the space between the viewer, and myself

There is a 30BaD NYC group that you should definitely join. You can see it in the group section of my 30BaD page.

Also, check out "Meetup.com" & enter key words. They have many raw vegan groups there. Not so sure about LFRV, but I am part of "NYC Fruit Hunters" group there & they usually get together with mostly fruit in a community garden on the LES.

Right now most of the activity groups are pretty silent, but they'll pick up again when the weather gets warmer.

And always feel free to start LFRV events of your own. Just spread the word here on 30BaD & on MeetUp.com & on GiveItToMeRaw.com -- this get's the word out & everyone will come together. :) If you ever need help with that let me know.
