"Go to banana island! And yes, you can freeze them. It's better than to let them to get overripe."

"I have been freezing banans for years and use them in my smoothies. No negative effects at all for me. I also buy a case a week so that I always have ripe ones on hand but I always end up having to freeze some."

what's your take on frozen fruit?

i bought a crate of bananas earlier this week but they only had super ripe ones, the first day they were perfect to eat but im afraid the rest of them will go bad. so i thought to freeze most of them and make banana 'icecream' with them as well as buy another case so ill alternate between fresh and frozen.so im wondering if freezing bananas will have negative effects or be counterproductive in some way?See More

Hello! I am a college student and I go to Bridgewater State in MA, United States.
I'm new here and would love to meet new friends! especially those in the Bridgwater, Ma area as well as the Merrimack Valley region!

After learning about raw vegan in a sociology class of mine I decided to youtube search this. These raw vegan ideas just make so much more sense! I’ve been seriously considering making the switch for weeks now. However people around me, since they are just as unfamiliar with this territory as I am, keep filling my head with doubt. I feel as if joining this community would be the best decision to make if I really do want to make this transition into raw vegan possible. I’ve only heard good things come from this lifestyle, and this seems like the only way of eating in which people not only look amazing but feel awesome and have energy for what seems like days. I would love that, health and happiness all with the change of diet. I do believe food can heal and the crap I see other people around me eat, as well as myself I admit never looks promising to help keep me healthy.

There are many reasons as to why I would love to make the switch, first having both cancer and diabetes as two primary illnesses that run in my family history, and cancer being known to have taken my grandmother's life and threaten my mother's, I do not want the same fate. I believe eating better will greatly reduce my chances in many cancers and diabetes (I looked up a short documentary where diabetic individuals followed a raw vegan program and reversed their diabetes, wow!). Another big reason is that ever since I was young I have always been put on diets by my family, I have also been overweight my whole life. In high school and college I’ve struggled with an EDNOS and am finally ready for some stability in my life. I feel as if I need this stability to finally help me develop a healthier relationship with food.
Simply put imp tired of being fat, being a yo-yo, and failing. I’m tired of getting upset, starving myself for months, then watch myself fall back into my cycles of fasting, binging and purging. I want to be healthy, and not the next in line for illness in my family. I want to be happy!

no & keen to connect
My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are....
Media Control by Noam Chomsky, Night by Elie Wiesel, Harry Potter, and the Hunger Games. I tend to read more when I'm not in school since my semesters are generally hectic with my two jobs, course work, and student run organizations I'm apart of/taking on leadership roles in. I'm also in honors, I like to keep myself busy. I love rugby, I am a forward and prop as well as second row when needed. I also enjoy singing and performing!!

I would generally like a sense of community in which I'm not bombarded with people telling me that "I should just start vegetarian for a couple months". Self doubt does nothing positive for me. I just want the positivity and encouragement needed while making the switch as well as awesome people to exchange tips, success stories and recipes.
