Anyone had spiralized beets? I'm thinking of getting a spiralizer and doing the standard zucchini noodles, but I thought maybe beets would be nice and sweet to try too? Continue

Well, I must admit to falling off the banana wagon on Day 17. I barely ate any fruit over the weekend either.
I'm going to start by updating my daily journal up to the point where I mess up, then follow that with this morning's journal where I list why cooked food is SUCH a bad idea.
Monday 4 July: Day 13, 89.0kg
orange mango juice
dateorade
oranges
Tuesday 5 July: Day 14, -
Need to eat MORE!
orange mango…

So it is now day 13 of my challenge. I tell myself 30 days but honestly its just to get me through the cooked food cravings/withdrawls. I plan to go MUCH longer than 30 days but seriously if I hadn't set myself this target I would surely have caved by now. Like, I would literally be looking at my old comfort foods and the only thing stopping me from digging in was to repeat in my head "its only for 30 days, after that you can eat this food again." It feels so good to not cave in. And yes I…

This post was written on 22 April 2011. I had been feeling rubbish having tried to live as cheaply as possible, even to the detriment of my health. I thought I could get away with living on less than $2 before dinner - oatmeal for breakfast then baked beans on toast for lunch. It lasted on and off for a few months. My nails got really brittle and my hair was just so dull and limp no matter what I did. Henna only covered the problem for a little while. My skin felt…

Okay, so I've been a member here since about Feb 2010 - about a year and a half.
This is my first blog post.
It was my brother in law who told me about 30BaD - he's friends with Harley - so I became a member. I read Doug Graham's 801010 diet book and it made sense, so I became lfrv overnight. After a week (and noticing the benefits) I went off the diet. My husband has a history of being a baker and a pastry chef, so he has food issues, mostly the psychological/social side of…

Janna Bannanna said… I wish I could send you some nanners! i've been able to get em for $3/kg and so they're back in my daily menu. i too get a bit over dates, i think my body is still adjusting to digesting them, i've been peeling my dates after soaking so they are not so hard for me to digest, just means i have to eat more though to get the same nutrients! occasionally i'll make raspberry daterade... u can get frozen unsweetened raspberries in most supermarkets. Good for a bit of variety!
i'm almost coming up to 2 months and i still have days where i cant quite make 3000 cals, i just make sure i eat a lot the next day!
have you tried OJ and celery blended?
i've had the biggest cravings for persimmons the last couple of days, so this morning i rang my produce supplier for my cafe and they said they would look into getting some for me, they said that the moment they are $2 each so $40 for a case of $20 and im like hmmmm i dont know whether my craving is justified spending that much! so they are going to search around for me to try and find cheaper ones! im so excited!
ooooo another fruit ive been adding as an "extra" (as apposed to a staple) is the organic fuji apples that woolies have had the last couple of weeks! yum! but i cant seem to eat enough for a whole meals worth of cals so they have to be my dinner entree... or i have to have them chopped with date sauce on top.
anyway hope you have a fruitabulous day!
xx

Bananita said… Hi Jay, I saw your post on the forum saying that you've recently been off the banana wagon(!) and I totally understand why! It's hard all this pressure from family and stuff. I'm a newbie to the whole raw food way of life but I totally believe it's the right thing to do. Good luck in getting back on the wagon, I really hope you succeed! I'm going to do 17 days of 100% to kick start my ass into this! (after several failed attempts!) Jx
