Desperately Needing Encouragement

Oh wow! good thought Harrison. We should all get away from all toxic body stuff. I just stopped using the massage lotion I had been buying to do my body work job. I actually feel a little better now…

Desperately Needing Encouragement

Keep up the good work and don't be too hard on yourself about staying 100% raw if you can't do it every day. Can you eat whole vegan foods when you do cooked foods? Just do the best you can. One per…

Transform streets into food forests

What if we could jack hammer up all the streets, we would leave the major ones.
the rest of the asphalt and sidewalks would go as well as the driveways.

we would grow food forests with walking paths around all the dwellings and start replacing them with nicer eco-friendly housing facing the right direction to catch sun and give shade as needed, with food growing on the roofs and built in rain barrel catchment that artfully sends the rainwater to the waiting forest.

Would like to meet others on the path...

I Ultimately would like to see urban permaculture food forests and roof gardens throughout Berkeley where I live and in all cities in 4 to 8 block grids or "pods" for car sharing. I see this as an alternative to buying land in the country somewhere remote where it is hard to transition and make a living. This will include all greening activities, grey water, and natural power. This way we can still work at existing jobs until we get going and then we untie ourselves from the old paradigm gradually.

We would bulldoze up the inner streets and put in a grid of fruit trees, melons, green houses, bamboo, hemp etc. break down the fences in backyards and share the central areas for gardens and yoga space, perhaps a spin bike area set up under an roof or gazebo connected to human powered generators so we can get off the grid block by block.

To get to the ultimate goal I want to build toward an urban vegan permaculture center, with classes on local food, grey water, tropical greenhouses, pilates, yoga, fasting and transitioning to vegan and raw diets. We will have living space for artists, musicians and writers and other creatives as well as public space for teaching and workshops and sharing.

Why don't I advocate going to a rural setting and suggest doing this in the cities and suburbs? Because urban people need to see this happening in their midst not somewhere far away.

Humans need to stay on our "human reservations" and stop infesting paradise but let it heal.

Many animals and eco systems in nature need lots of acreage for natural habitat. So instead of worrying about cultivating native plants in human areas I suggest we grow stuff for humans to eat and stay out of natural areas so they can repair themselves. Huge commercial farms can be converted to rural ecovillage food forests for humans who want to get away or allowed to revert to wilderness.

This will be similar to the organizations that abound in the SF Bay Area, co-housing center, the ecology center, the garden projects in Oakland only this organization will be centered on veganism and 811 to tie it all together. That is the last puzzle piece they are all missing.

I want to find vegan people who want to teach and lead us toward a new world based on having the food and shelter and health we all need as our top priority as part of our spiritual path as a species without profit margin as the only end goal and without enslaving and harming others.

These leaders will see beyond the lowbrow crap that abounds and share resources as a model city within a city for others to see and know it is possible.
