UGH! TOMATO BLIGHT!!!

Lost this years tomato crop due to the same blight that caused the Irish Potato Famane. Looks like next year I will be planting tomatoes in another garden.

I am extremely bummed, I had all sorts of really great heirloom varieties. I guess they weren't strong enough to get past all of the rain we have been getting. The blight travels by spores when it is wet and windy. Some big crop farmers in my area got it, and sadly it traveled to my small garden.

Day 24 Exercise

I havent been exercising every day like I have planned nor have I been getting sleep lately since my grams stroke. I try to atleast get in around 100 pushups everyday (not 350 like I was planning on for this week). Its tough when your getting around 4 hours of sleep at night from juggling work and spending time with her.

Thankfully, my grandma recognizes every one of us- 100%. It's so beautiful when we come into her hospital room (while shes awake), walk up to her, and put your hand on her head and say hello she gets the biggest smile. We will ask her if she knows who we are and she will nod our head, and sometimes say yes. Lifes ups and downs

Today, I was working on my lovely garden enjoying life. Imagining all of the melons, tomatoes, peppers, greens, etc that I will be enjoying shortly. I usually will leave my phone inside because I like to pretend nothing else exists besides the bugs buzzing, the wind blowing, the birds chirping, chipmunks chipping, and just the beauty of natures beats.

Day 19 Excercise

On day 18 I did 365 pushups. Before day one I was doing around 50/week. I hated pushups! lol, now I love them. I don't like anything that I am not well at. When I started doing the pushups (day1) I struggled to finish 100-150! Now, I did 365 in a 1.5hr workout! I am seeing MAJOR results. My muscles feel and look alot stronger, and I love myself even more!

As far as the pawpaws, there's a guy at the farmer's market here in Bloomington, IN that knows the best trees in the woods and picks them and sells them at the market. He always has the craziest stories of what he had to go through to get them, too. He always picks his at the right to too so they are so darn sweet, absolutely incredible stuff. I don't know, I think I could eat 100lbs of pawpaws, but I guess if they were all ripe at once and you didn't have enough fridge space that would be tricky. In September I usually buy around 30lbs a week as a supplement to whatever else I'm buying at that time like peaches, melons, and mangoes.

Great talking last night. I had loads of fun. We'll likely see each other in the next 2 or 3 weeks. We'll have to exchange numbers.
