I've been reading alot of books about nutrition the last few years. I knew I needed to start adding more fruits and veggies into my diet. So I started searching the internet and stumbled across 30BaD. Anyway, I've been doing this a couple of weeks now and I knew in the first couple of days that this was the way to go! I have more energy already and the best part is my depression has gone away - I have struggled with depression since I was a teenager and I am now 37. So I'm just here to learn more and get some support. My husband is supportive, but not on board with me. Although I have been able to get him to eat more fruit and some salads. I hope eventually he'll see the changes in me and want to jump on board the fruit train with me. :) Oh and I've lost 10 pounds already so that is great because I've struggled with weight my whole life. But now I'm focusing on getting healthy and the weight loss will just be a nice side benefit for me. Also I have ordered the 811 book and can't wait to read it!

My dream last night...

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 12:25am 5 Comments

Had an awesome dream last night. I won the lotto and decided to open a juice bar for the homeless so they could come and get some good nutrition. Also I would hand out juicers and bags of fruit and veg to anyone that wanted it. Along with that I gave out Bibles and called my mission Juicing for Jesus.…

Heart Attack

Posted on January 18, 2012 at 1:03am 5 Comments

My mother-in-law had a heart attack this weekend.  We went to see her yesterday and she was feeling much better.  I guess she is going to have by-pass surgery sometime later this week.  She had 5 blockages and they went in and cleared out the worst one already. She had polio when she was a kid so she's had a difficult life to begin with.  My father-in-law is hopeful that having the surgery will get some extra blood flow to her heart and help give her more energy to get out of the house once…

hopeful for my husband to change...

Posted on January 11, 2012 at 1:02am 2 Comments

I got a juicer for Christmas.  It's been fun experimenting with different combinations.  The best thing of all is I've been able to get my husband to drink a fruity juice for breakfast the past four days and he seems to enjoy it!  He doesn't like the thickness of smoothies.  He usually just has a Coke on the way to work (ugh!) so I'm hoping I'll be able to at least change that habit for him.

I've also been able to get him to eat more salads for dinner.  Of course he still has some…

kind of a light bulb moment

Posted on December 29, 2011 at 1:27am 2 Comments

This past week has been really difficult for me.  I've been caving in to all kinds of junky foods.  I usually have a little more difficult time on weekends, but this has been a whole week of craziness for me with my anniversary, Christmas, etc.  Then it hit me this morning....weekends are when my husband is home all day.  He's a SAD eater but is trying to be supportive of me as much as he can.  But I think what is happening is that I am getting extra tempted by all the smells and foods that…

Thanks for commenting on my post.  @Traci - Yes, a bing only consists of veggies.  There was meat on the stove, cause my family is not vegan, but I passed it right over.  No interest.  I did have a big breakfast this morning.  1493 calories.  I just had 315 calories added with a few more bananas.  I have some strawberries next to me looking juicy good.  I don't think I'll undereat today. :)
