Our community would be delighted to know you better. Please tell us more about yourself and what brought you to 30BaD. We suggest you pick a name other than your own if you want to maintain anonymity.: I was sick of feeling tired after everything I ate. I work in a grocery store and the peer pressure of what to eat was so hard to overcome when everyone else was eating so poorly, telling me I don't need to eat healthy, I'm young, I have tons of energy. I didn't feel that way, I knew it could be better! After watching a movie called "Food Matters" I became interested in find out more about this raw food. At that time I wasn't thinking about weight loss, just about feeling better. Then my husband proposed and I thought, hey why not try to lose a few pounds. I was 162lbs when I started and I held it well. I only looked like I was 130lbs according to others. I didn't do a lot of research and most of my food was high fat raw foods, I did lose 15lbs before my wedding and it took 2 months...yes I planned my small wedding in 2 months. Of course, the day of the wedding I went back to eating cooked food. My sister made sure I had tons of veggies on my plate. from then on I stuck to eating mostly raw fruits and veggies, the % I'm not exactly sure, but I have raw meals for breakfast and dinner most of the times.
I live in a small town and the selection of health food stores and places to get local fruits was limited, but I found one. It felt so good to talk to others that didn't think I was crazy to want to get into raw food. I met John a local yogi and he wrote a few things for me to look up and here I am. :)
